The chicken breast was dry, as expected, but still tasty. The saffron rice and lemon meringue were very good. Still better than what most other airlines are serving these days. No cookies were offered on the flight.

I thought the cod was...fine? To me it seemed mildly flavored and the cod was cooked well and not dry. Overall, it tasted like a lighter/healthier meal. Also, mine definitely looked less black than the one in gold10829's post. Our F/A also wrote different quotes for each of our meals which I thought was interesting.

No plated dessert meant the cookies came out, which ended up being southern toffee with nuts (maybe pecans?), and as expected, delicious.

Cod was really dry. However couldn’t complain as I was hungry. Snack basket came out 1 hour prior to arrival. Cookie was given shortly after meal was cleared

It was pretty decent tho unremarkable and came with a lemon meringue tart. Service was very good and professional with a pass of the snack basket around an hour out of DCA.

This was my first transcon since COVID, but things mostly seemed normal except the coffee was in paper cups. My wife and I pre-ordered the kale bowl, which we both thought was pretty tasty. My neighbor had the onion frittata, I passed on that as I hate onions but it also looked pretty good. My son pre-ordered the fruit and cheese plate, which came with yogurt. There was one pass of the snack basket about an hour before landing; I selected the pea-toes based on reviews here and was not let down. We landed around an hour early due to favorable winds, all in all a very smooth flight although JFK Terminal 1 is pretty sad these days.

I was hesitant but tried the Bahn-mi. It was OK. The pickled slaw and Sriracha really made the sandwich. The bread was a bit too thick and some small bits were very soggy. Also, the banhmi had this sauce (Sriracha mayo???) that didn't really belong in a banhmi, imo. Overall though, it was fine. I woke up hungover that day so the carby bread was really appreciated. 😂

This was MUCH tastier than it looked - I really enjoyed it! Excellent service from the flight attendant in First, who gave me a warm welcome as a oneworld frequent flyer.

LAX-CUN
Lunch:
Entrée Salad with egg. (Other option was Beef Sandwich)
This was ok - the cauliflower was marinated in curry, which overwhelmed the flavor of the dish.

Both meals were delicious. The breakfast was very filling, as was the dinner. I know it has been mentioned before, but I can't get over the fact that it's a real filet! I would pay $35 in a restaurant and be happy. It's also great to see that even the disposable napkins retain the button hole.

Any idea if the current beverage restrictions for flights under 350mi will be lifted on 4/13? Seems kind of crazy you still cannot get anything but water in F when flying routes like LAX-SFO - which can easily be 2hrs BIS on the aircraft.

Even the "short" PDX-SEA hops can easily exceed an hour if you include ground time/delays. I wonder if they would ever consider using the Q400s on SFO-LAX...the whole plane gets limited beverage service since the 350 mile rule doesn't apply.

Well they do fly those to SMF, STS, and maybe others in CA. But yeah, SFO-LAX would probably be a tough sell.

"Free Beer" unless the captain decides there might be a breeze, in which case the crew must remain seated for the entire flight. Only on QX (and occasionally on AS) does "occasional light chop" in cockpit terms translate into "possible heavy turbulence" for the passenger cabin.

Haha. Not to digress too much, but years ago I was flying a SEA-GEG-SEA mileage run (when that was still a thing) on AS in F. On the outbound SEA-GEG segment, the captain announced that turbulence was forecast for the entire route and asked the flight attendants to remain seated with no service provided. Not a single bump was encountered inflight. Same crew on the GEG-SEA return, and the same captain farcically announces that it was very turbulent coming from SEA so he was going to ask the flight attendants to remain seated for the entire flight and would do his best to find a smooth ride. Again, not a bump encountered on the flight and absolutely no service provided in F on either segment.

Back on topic, I'm flying LAX-SFO on 4/13 so I'll report if the new beverage service is extended to flights under 350mi.

I have a flight coming up next week. My universe will be in balance as long as I get couple of gin mini's and can of tonic with some ice in a cup
I don't think their service protocol will involve pre-pours - at least for next few weeks.

'Predicted turbulence' is the only thing that sours my AS experience. I have complained to AS about this in the past with even an instance where cabin crew and pilots discussed this prior to getting on the AC.

I'm 3 for 4 in the last month with Skywest FAs serving beverages and the snack basket on this route, but others have reported worse odds. This is a weird route rife with inconsistencies, and it's very much crew dependent over policy.

It's the result of Skywest operating for 4 different airlines. I've had one flight where everyone from the pilots to the FAs apparently think they were working United on the flight with the pilots welcoming us on a United Express Flight and the FAs talking about the Mileage Plus Program. Another flight the FA was on Delta mode handing every passenger an EO Wipe, even going as far as holding the boarding process to grab another box and telling the passenger "I'm supposed to hand these out to everyone when you board."
