There were 4 people on the upgrade list around T-22....my wife was #3 and I was #4 . Everyone but myself was upgraded prior to arriving at the airport, but I was upgraded at the gate (a rare gate upgrade for me). The interesting thing was that all the F passengers were couples...no single travelers except a couple of deadheading pilots. 1AB, 2AB, 3AB, and 3DF....the pilots were in 4A and 4F. I noticed pilots deadheading down to PVR last Friday and wondered if they don't overnight anymore in PVR (deadhead one way and fly the other...I didn't see any FA doing the same so maybe it's just for pilots?).

On the latter flight, Mr. #5 on waitlist was aghast at checkin that he was #5 and not #1 as usual, let alone not getting an upgrade.

I didn't catch his status, and to be clear, he was a very friendly, convivial chap, not doing a DYKWIA routine or anything like that.
SEA/IND is one of the two routes I've flown most often over the past two years, and normally, to not get a FC upgrade even as an MVP would be strange. It was the first time flying that route with any status that I haven't gotten a FC bump. So to not get it as a 75K just gets chalked up to: #2020nothingIsNormal
Oddity: There was an equipment change at ~T-36 that reduced FC from four rows to three. Otherwise I might still be savoring the memory of that chicken wrap.

Still, when a 75K doesn't get a FC upgrade between SEA and IND, Jupiter is clearly not aligned with Mars. I am sure Mr. #5 was thinking a similar thought. No upgrade on SEA/IND?!?!? What the...?
I've got a SEA/LAS itinerary next week. Curious to see how the upgrades do or don't go with that. I want my chicken wrap.
