SEA-SJC-LAX-JFK-SEA-SJC-PHX Purchased December 21st, 2019

1/6/2020 SEA-SJC, AS3332, 75K, T Class
1/6/2020 SJC-LAX AS466, 75K, R Class
1/6/2020 LAX-JFK AS470, 75K, K Class,
At booking, K Class was the cheapest Main fare but U space was unavailable. 12/24/2020 U opened up. I up-fared segment 1 & 2 to K Class for $133 and upgraded all three segments with one GGU.

1/7/2020, JFK-SEA, AS7, 75K, R Class, Upgrade cleared at T-120 hours, Upgrade e-mail received 6 minutes later.

Sea>Oma

Interesting thing happened. My MVPG status supposedly went away for 2020 since I didn’t hit the threshold (no status at all for 2020). However, it seems there was a bit of a delay in processing my downgrade so I cleared as MVPG at T-24 for a flight leaving today 1/2 from Seattle to Omaha! The boarding pass on the app still notes me as MVPG however this morning’s printed pass only lists me as mileage plan.

0/1 this year. Flew mainline SEA-SFO today.
The FAs also upgraded a deadheading jumpseat FA after boarding, instead of moving the next highest person on the list up.

I didn't have an issue with it, but is this standard?

Wrong thread, but the FA shouldn't / can't upgrade a passenger. That's the GA's job. Did they not process upgrades?

When I'm #1 on the list and there is space I ALWAYS talk to the GA before boarding. I mention that I'm #1 on the list and I ask if it's easier for me not to board. Usually they tell me to stand to the side (I've seen them process upgrades between groups B and C before). Saving them from having to board the plane to find you undoubtedly increases your chances.

Also if there is a moment when there's no line and they don't look too busy before boarding, I'll ask if they have processed upgrades yet.

MKE - SEA 367
Battlefield upgrade for wife and kid (both MVPG)

Note: later this week and for the foreseeable future this flight to and from SEA to MKE will be using the VX airbus which is 8FC. I suspect upgrades for golds will go down dramatically even for premium.

Already upgraded for flight later this week as 75K home to SEA.

AS8 SEA-EWR
MVPG75K, R fare, booked 18 Nov
saw "Select Seat" message in the app when I went to OLCI at T-23.5 (when I checked the seat map last night, there were ~30 PC and exit row seats showing occupied, and 7/12 F seats unassigned)

3 of 16. The first two people cleared. There were 5 open F seats the night before and 2 when I woke up this morning.

Oddly, I have better luck on this route these days. This traditionally is a unicorn.

well ... it **IS** a 16F A321 now, so I’m not entirely surprised to see slightly better results (also witness that I scored a GGU less than two weeks out, as noted in that thread a couple days ago)

AS 805 from SEA-OGG
Upgraded to First Class a little over 24 hours out.
Not sure what fare I booked, but I'm 75k and my wife is gold. We both got upgraded (same itinerary).

On another note, on my app I wasn't able to choose a first class seat for her. She was able to log in and change mine though. This is the second time this has happened in the last month or so. Anyone else have that issue?

has also happened to me. I just checked in again and was able to manage my own trip. I think this occurs if upgrade occurs less than 24 hours occasionally.

Strange, I agree it's a Unicorn. But if it's opening up that's good to hear, I fly it about once a quarter or so.
