Why would you lodge a OneUp as an Elite when APD upgrades are a fixed price and have a higher priority? I'm sure I'm not the only person who's confused by this.

Lack of APD due to requesting 6 or 7 out to July 2018 :-P and having them accepted. This trip short notice and only gave me the option of OneUp anyway, could not use APD. I am confused as well. Trip only booked Monday this week.

Was it not possible to buy some Airpoints dollars via a credit card such as Kiwibank? I am not sure if other cc offer this or not
You would then be able to lodge an Elite APD upgrade.

It is only the AIrNZ Platinum Master Cards (standard and platinum) by Kiwibank that offers that now.

That was a great deal! - I see date is a Tuesday and wonder if loads not as heavy on those days ?

I think so. I made a sham booking about 7 days out to gauge my chances. PE was full and BP had about 20 unassigned seats. Of course some of those may have been sold with out a seat selection.


I am both surprised and pleased the very low bid was accepted. My guess is they accepted all bids to free up PE seats for upgrades. We had several hundred Air Point Dollars that were due to expire so this was a last chance to use them.


Looking forwared to my first flight in BP.

What happens to paid exit row seats if you have a one up bid accepted to PE? Do you get the $95 refunded?
