same for me with the gold card. On Amex app, I go to the offer tab and this is where I found it. Sometimes I receive them by email too, but not always. This one, I didn't receive it by email.

Hi , i have various questions regarding amex fb card
.
  1. Since few days i started to receive mail notifications about purchases in eurozone but done in other currencies than euros , if transaction was processed at a rate above the exchange rate of european central bank . i understand its due to regulations but i guess its not new , isnt it ? or maybe it was disabled by default and now amex enabled it.. Later i found explanations on internet , it said that the bank should also provide more details such as price/exchange rate/fees by sms/mail etc .... but so far nothing like this and i would like to see such details after each transaction....
  2. Now amex cards are delivered with NFC , which is nice but not safe , so i would like to setup a limit for NFC transactions , or setup PIN as mandatory when using NFC
  3. During transactions , i often see a pop-up about trusted merchants , which i guess allow to skip 3ds (multi factor verification) , however this list appear only during transactions and i would like to change/modify this list , plus (if possible) i also would like to find a way how to block merchants which dont offer multi factor verification

where and how can i configure such things in the settings if possible ?

2. AFAIK, you cannot change the contactless payment limit (50€ for each transaction, and randomly asking for PIN if suspicious activities is detected).
I think that you can disable contactless payment by calling the number on the back of the card though.
But I don't see the point disabling it : AMEX anti-fraud system is the best you can get in Europe, they will refund all unauthorized transactions without asking much. I wouldn't worry about it.

3. You can modify the list. Go to the website, log on, and in french it's "Vos paramtres" tab, then click on "grez vos sites de confiance". You won't be able to block merchants that don't do 2 factors check, but again, I don't see the point doing it, AMEX will easily refund any fraud (that's one of the main perk of AMEX).

An update on my Platfor2 story. I am now being told that there is a issue with either an Amex or FB system and therefor not possible to provide my wife with the status for now. They have no idea when it will be solved. They will call me every 10 business days with an update (don't trust that I am now at 2 out of 11 times that they have called me when promised).
He could not tell me since when this issue is, at least since Sep, but I am trying since May.
Dont know it is true, after so many excuses.
They compensated me again with 150 (totalling 450) and 20.000 miles.

Another issue that I am having since last month, miles are not credited to my account.

Has anyone else received the "mettre jour vos informations" asking for your ID and income?

I submitted it... does anyone know if they then go on to request more paperwork (as in your tax declaration, etc) or is this simply a perfunctory compliance thing?

I know when I had a similar request in the US it was a real pain in the neck... they wanted tax forms, bank statements, etc... but there it is called a "financial review" (triggered by an expensive purchase at the time). I dread these things because I have companies and accounts in three countries and it is always hard for them to wrap their heads around.

I guess this French one is better than the NL stories... at least it's all online...

So far so good here. Got the online form to fill, and the system kept asking for it for a few days.
Then the pop-up just vanished so they must have been satisfied with the self-declaration. Fingers crossed.

yes, got the request too for several weeks. I find this super intrusive. They already got my ID when I subscribed the card (OK it was more than 20 years ago ). I never had any payment rejected in my life with them, so why bother. I continue to close the pop-up window and ignore the request.

Don't do that Goldorak...Amex has a crazy streak... hear me out...

So today I decided I would call the number in the email at their convenient, customer-focused times....

From my fixed line: "Votre appel ne peut aboutir"
From my mobile "Le numro que vous avez compos n'est pas en service"

So then I decided to call Amex. The first option now is "Si vous avez reu une demande de mise jour..... press 1". After which you get "Le numro que vous avez compos n'est pas en service" .
At 5:10pm ... "American Express Bonjour. Nous sommes votre coute du lundi ...."

KAFKA LIVES

So I requested to speak with an agent, the same one I am certain is reading Astrix dressed in a pink Tiara with colored pencils and answers "Monsieur, je ne saurais pas vous dire... mais normalement..." We could make a sketch...

The agent explained to me that all cardholders have received this request. And that from the first alert if the information is not provided in 30 calendar days all accounts are closed because of a new anti money laundering law. Actually that law has been in place for some time (please correct me if I am wrong) but someone with their fiscal residence in Vanuatu apparently must have just tried to buy Tonga and three of those boat offers currently on Amex and triggered a DGIFP call to Amex.

Now, let's hope that the agent is exaggerating but Amex is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde... delightful one day and dreadful the next. So be forewarned....

I completely second bostontraveler here!
KYC rules for banks and payment establishments are not the same joke they were 10 years ago. Closing an account and losing a customer is now an option compared to the hassle of dealing with a money laundering investigation.

I would not do that. As per maalloc, recently the anti money laundering laws and know your customer laws across Europe have gotten more strict, not just dual factor authentication etc. Saying as someone whos bills are paid by this kind of work.

You do run a real risk of having your card closed if you continue to ignore this. Obviously Amex will try to prevent that but at some point, they can't afford to take on the risk.
