The Great CDG Wiki :
This wiki post walks you through any essential info for CDG and aims to answer questions around AF and Skyteam ops at CDG.
Most common questions and answers :
CDG Air France Lounges: There are lounges in terminal 2F (one common lounge), 2G, and 2E (all gates). See dedicated thread here.
Terminal 2E K-L-M hopping: Pax are only allowed to access gates from which their next flight is departing. This is especially true for lounge access: it is not possible to pick a 2E lounge; it is not possible to access 2E lounges on arrival without a valid boarding pass for a departure flight.
General terminal hopping: Pax are only allowed to access gates from which their next flight is departing. You can not access another terminal airside without a valid boarding pass for that terminal unless arriving in that terminal and transferring to another (for example, you may arrive and shop in 2F before heading to 2E or 2G, but you will most likely not be able to access the 2F lounge.).
Transfer time from non-Schengen flights: CDG is notoriously bad at managing flights from safe origins. When transferring from a non-Schengen origin, allow some buffer time for security screening.
All connections sold by AF on a single ticket are valid and legal (even the shortest ones) and so are feasible in normal circumstances (otherwise, they would not sell them). When you are connecting in CDG, just follow the signages for your connecting terminal/concourse (there is no secret faster way). Self-connecting in CDG with separate tickets requires extra caution because the passenger is not protected in case of no show on the connecting flight. A minimum of 3 to 4 hrs between the 2 flights is highly recommended to limit the risks.
Why is a Non-Schengen flight listed at Terminal 2F?
Due to 2E being very busy in the morning, some Non-Schengen flights who are due to leave from 2E-L have their check-in moved to 2F in order to alleviate load in 2E. If you are originating in CDG or coming in from an overnight layover, you will check-in and pass security in 2F as well as passport control at the right (east) end of the terminal, before walking through the 2F - 2E-L connector to your gate. If you are transferring inside of 2E by arriving on a Non-Schengen flight, find your connecting gate on the screens and follow the signs to your gate.
CDG terminals (AF, KL, and SkyTeam)
All SkyTeam companies (with the exception of Saudia in Terminal 1), operates out of the Terminal 2 Complex at CDG.
Terminal 2F
The main Schengen terminal for AF, also used by KLM, Air Europa and TAROM, split into two wings of gates (F24-F36 and F44-F56).
Where is the lounge in this terminal ?
The Air France Lounge is located just by the central security control, closer to gates F24-F36. You can purchase access on a machine outside the lounge. If you have a guest, they must be checked in on the machines when entering the lounge. The lounge has two levels, a buffet on each level, a Clarins spa on the upper level and showers on the lower level. Plan for a 2-3 minute walk to gates F24-F36, 5 minutes to F44-F56.
How do I transfer from this terminal?
When arriving in 2F, you will walk down one of the two wings down to a central area. When arriving into this central area, either do a U-Turn to walk up a floor to 2F departures, or follow the yellow signs to terminals 2E-K (7-10 minute walk + passport control), 2E-L (Passport control + 10 minute walk), 2E-M (Passport control + bus to 2E-M), or 2G (bus transfer).
Check-in and Security
There is a dedicated SkyPriority Check-In zone between doors 4 and 6 at the left end of the terminal (if arriving by taxi/uber, ask to be dropped off at the end of the terminal). Just next to the SkyPriority check-in zone there is a dedicated security filter for SkyPriority. There is also a second SkyPriority lane at central security in the middle of the terminal which drops you next to the lounge.
Terminal 2E
The main Non-Schengen terminal for AF, also used by Delta, Korean Air, Aeromexico, Kenya Airways, Middle East Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, China Eastern and Xiamen Air. This terminal has three piers named K, L and M, connected post passport control but pre-security by the airside CDGVAL line.
Where are the lounges in this terminal ?
Air France has three lounges, one per pier (K, L, and M). Each lounge has showers and a Clarins spa.
The K lounge is on to the left after security in the central shopping area.
The L Lounge (pictures here) is located one level up from the central shopping area in the L pier.
The M lounge is located at the eastern end of the central shopping area, opposite of where you arrive post-security.
Lounge hopping between these three lounges are not allowed, you must use the lounge from the pier where your flight is departing from.
If you are flying La Premire outbound/inbound, you will be escorted directly to the La Premire lounge either from LP check-in or picked up from your connecting flight.
How do I transfer from this terminal?
When arriving in either of the three piers, you will go through security control, and will then need to follow the yellow signs to your next gate area. If transferring inside the same pier, generally you will just walk up a level. If transferring to 2F, follow signs to 2F (5-10mn walking transfer from K and L gates, 10mn bus from M) after clearing security in 2E. You will clear passport control when arriving in 2F, and will be deposited on the upper departure level of 2F. For 2G, take the shuttle from your arrival terminal towards 2G where you will clear passport control.
Check-in and Security
There is a dedicated SkyPriority Check-In zone located at zones 6 and 7, located just by passport control and the center of the terminal (if arriving by taxi/uber, ask to be dropped off at the middle of the terminal). After check-in, there is a dedicated Accs N1 / SkyPriority lane at passport control, and dedicated SkyPriority lanes at security for each pier.
If flying La Premire, there is a dedicated check-in area from which you will be escorted each step of the way.
Terminal 2G
The secondary Schengen terminal for AF, used mostly by AF alongside some partner flights by Luxair. Only regional jets and turboprops use this terminal. The terminal is small and detached from the rest of the airport, but allows you to pass quickly through with few queues. If arriving by public transport, you must grab a landside shuttle from 2F/2E, allow 15-20mns for this.
Where is the lounge in this terminal ?
The Air France Lounge is located on the upper floor, when coming up the stairs/escalators from security, do a u-turn and you will see the lounge entrance. Showers are available. More info here.
How do I transfer from this terminal?
When arriving in 2G, follow the yellow signs towards the 2F shuttle or upstairs to 2G departure gates. If transferring to/from 2E, you will clear passport control in 2G before heading to the shuttle going to either K, L or M gates.
Check-in and Security
There is a dedicated SkyPriority Check-In zone close to security just when walking into the terminal from either of the terminal entrances. There is also a dedicated SkyPriority lane at security.
How do I transfer to TGV and Orly?
If your onward journey is by TGV or from Orly Airport, when arriving into CDG, go to baggage claim and exit landside.
To TGV
When arriving into 2F and 2E, follow the signs towards Gare TGV (10mn walk), where you will be able to find the platform for your onwards train.
To Orly
In order to transfer to Orly, you have two options:
- Grab the RER B (from the central railway station) towards Antony (St Remy les Chevreuses branch) and transfer to either Orlyval at Antony or Line 14 at Chatelet. Expect a travel time of 70 to 80 minutes. (26, 2x airport tickets at 13)
- Grab a Taxi/Uber towards Orly. Expect 60 to 90 minutes travel time. (75 to 120 depending on time of day/traffic)
How do I reach downtown Paris?
By public transport
To reach Paris by public transport, you have two options, either by the RER B commuter train from the central CDG train station (35-45 minutes depending on type of train, express or not) for 11,45 with a CDG airport ticket, or the Roissybus which leaves from a central platform in between 2F and 2E, which takes you direct to Opra for 16,6 euros in 60 minutes.
By Taxi/Uber/Other chauffeur services
You can grab a taxi from the ranks outside each terminal or at dedicated pick-up points for pre-booked taxis / Ubers / etc at each terminal. A taxi to central Paris has a fixed price of 56 to the Right Bank and 65 to the Left Bank. The drive to central Paris is 45 to 90 minutes depending on time of day and destination. If pre-ordering a G7 taxi, expect a 4 booking fee added on.
Other info
CDG Terminal 2 can be very hard to access by car in the morning due to the road layout and the queues to access the 2E drop-off area. Allow extra time for this if you have a flight during the morning bank. You can ask to be dropped off at 2B/D (2A/C is closed for renovation) and walk over to 2E/F to save time if traffic is very bad.

Did a search, but couldn't find an exact answer. Traveling JFK-CDG-SZG. I'm not 100% familiar with CDG as I've only gone through about a dozen times. I'll be arriving on DL at 2E, leaving for SZG at 2D (AF codeshare/Styrian). Which is the fastest way to get from 2E to 2D, the bus or by foot? If by foot, which is the best route? And how about on the return?
Based on my previous experiences, I've padded my connection time enough on the outbound. If I'm arriving at 2E, and going to 2D, are there showers that an Elite Plus could use?
Thanks in advance.

- Clear immigration in 2E
- Once you are out of the baggage retrieval area, go towards the TGV station. You need to go up one level. Time to reach the moving walkways leading to the TGV station : 5mn
- Head for the TGV station over moving walkways : 5mn
- Cross over to the other side of the terminal : 1mn
- Turn left towards 2D, which you should reach in 5mn.
- You then need to reach your departure gate, another 5mn and go through security check.
(Please note that it usually takes me half the time I have quoted)
- The 2D lounge is located before security check; there are no showers there
- There are 14 showers in the 2C arrivals lounge, but I am not sure that as a DL SkyTeam Elite Plus flying coach, you would be able to use the lounge. If you are flying B/E, there should be no problem.
For your flight back to JFK
- you arrive in the departures area of 2D; it may take you 5mn to reach the moving walkways to the TGV station, depending on the area of 2D where you arrive
- head for the TGV station over moving walkways: 5mn
- cross over to the other side of the building n: 1mn
- head for 2E over another set of moving walkways : 5mn
- go up one level to departures (it is actually half a level)
- head for the isthmus : 5mn
- where you will clear immigration and security, it usually is very quick as 2E is not used so much
And don't forget to enjoy your flights
!

JOUY31, thanks so much! I always have people heading through CDG look at your posts for information (not that everyone else aren't also helpful).
Is the 2C arrivals lounge airside or landside? If landside, I'll go in next weekend and ask about Elite Plus admission. (Going to CDG for once, instead of through CDG.)
On the return from 2D to 2E, which exit path do I take towards the TGV station? Follow the signs to baggage claim?
Also, since I'll be travelling on DL to JFK, what is your opinion of the AF lounge in the satellite building?
Thanks again.

Arrival lounge is special in the way that you can access it without going through security. If you arrive in 2E you are not able to access the lounge only when departing from this terminal.
Arrival lounge has plenty of shower and a better selection for breakfast. There are 3 flat massage seats that you may use to take a nap if you have time and need to rest. Beside this it is rather small and nothin
If your flying patern allow you to go to the main Terminal E lounge then you have very nice showers in a nice large lounge but for this you need to have a flight departing from 2E.

, all other are departure lounges
my personal rating is
2E departure (in terminal building, there's a 2nd in satellite terminal, depends on your departure gate)
2C arrival
2F2 departure lounge
2C departure lounge can get really crowded

Yes, the 2C Arrival lounges vs. the 2E/F departure lounges, which also have showers. I only travel occasionally to CDG, and haven't tried the 2F lounge upon arrival (for a shower and some breakfast, etc.) as opposed to walking over to the 2C landside arrival lounge which I've used previously. For example, do you get clothes pressing at the 2F lounge if you need it? Are the showers as nice as at 2C?

Back from my skiing holiday
! There is no pressing service in departures lounges and there are 13 or 14 nice showers in the arrivals lounge as well as one for the physically impaired ( I hope I did get the US PC style wording correctly !).
When I have the time, I always go to the arrivals lounge rather than to any departures lounge, except for the 2E one.
! There is no pressing service in departures lounges and there are 13 or 14 nice showers in the arrivals lounge as well as one for the physically impaired ( I hope I did get the US PC style wording correctly !).When I have the time, I always go to the arrivals lounge rather than to any departures lounge, except for the 2E one.
