Seems like CPT is going to be another destination with BEST seats, I'm not 100% sure when, but looking at flights for late October shows a 1-2-1 configuration (vs. the 330 flying today)

I had a very pleasant surprise a few days ago where my AF flight had the BEST seats while at time of booking they were showing the NEV4 seats.
Very nice seats I have to say - I got very good sleep on my TATL flight.
However, AF's service was not the best and I felt they have a lot of room to improve.

Just bad luck IMO, as AF service is good to very good in the immense majority of my flights. Of course there is always room for improvement.

Apologies, but I'm still confused - do the JFK flights (AF9, 19, 23) consistently have the new J 1/2/1 hard product? Multiple posts seem to indicate so, but SeatGuru says these are only angled lie-flats. Thanks.

Forget SeatGuru for relevant information about which cabin flies where. If you have access, check seat maps in Expertflyer or make a dummy booking on AF.com.

Well if AF had more consistent J class product across the fleet, people wouldn't have to ask.

According to EF, they seem to be getting back to fly with BEST on a 772 in October, and for now only running with the 332.

Hello,

I'm a bit confused by the first post. I'm flying on AF 26 (CDG->IAD) in La Premiere, and I see the plane is a 772. Does that have the newest F cabins? From the wikipost it seems like none of them should have an F cabin, so I'm not sure what to expect.

How does the 772 F compare to the 77W F? I tried searching but the search removes "772" from my query because it's too short, so it's hard to find the answer.

Thanks.

There is a problem somewhere. I can confirm to you that the 772 doesn't have P anymore.
The 77W (with P) was present recently, flying as AF054/055 (I flew it earlier this week) and might be still around. But with a double daily rotation, the A388 (with P) is flying as AF054/055 and the other rotation (AF026/027) is with a B772 so without P !
So check your booking, because it's not possible that you fly P in the 772.

Thanks for clarifying. I looked up the reservation and I see that it is on a 77W!! Quite excited by that!

My confusion was because I looked up AF 26 (https://flightaware.com/live/flight/AFR26) and saw it's a 772 3-cabin listed as (First / Business / Economy). But if you look up the seat maps, it looks like they mean J-W-Y.

CDG->IAD is AF 54 until June 1st, after that AF starts operating two flights on several days, one is on the A380 and the other is the 77W.

Thanks for your help. It's my first time flying P and 2nd time ever on AF so I'm pretty excited.

I prefer the later evening departure of AF76 CDG-LAX 772. ExpertFlyer seat map shows 12 rows of J in 1-2-1 config.

Would I be crazy to chose this later flight over the mid-day AF72 CDG-LAX 77W, which I assume is a sure-thing best J seat?
