CDG-JFK - 11 Dec
I'm due to fly from CDG to JFK on Friday on the 710pm flight. In looking at the seat map it looks like one of the old configurations of the 773s, what are the odds that I'll be flying in their new business class?
Also, do the planes with the new business class have wifi?

Which cabin?
Despite AF's continual posting of updated information on where BEST will be flying that never includes IAH, my 777-200 flight in mid April to CDG continues to show as 1-2-1 so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be the case.
A couple of questions:
Presuming we do end up with BEST, are we better off in the larger front cabin (7 rows) or the cabin behind the galley (3 rows)? Normally, the smaller the cabin the more I like it but Seat guru shows three rows of premium economy immediately behind the J seats so basically they are the same size if there isn't really any separation. They don't show a divider, can anyone confirm this is the case? If so, might be 10 hours of angry looks!
IF we end up with the old seats, what is the best way to improve our changes of not getting a middle seat? Currently we have 4e & 4f, would we be better off to change to 4a & 4e if the change happens? Or is it all a shot in the dark? I am just trying to keep from having a repeat of my last AF trip, where after checking for almost a year to make sure we didn't loose our preferred seats, to have an equipment change on check in day and since we were on originally on the upper deck of a plane but the new plane didn't have those seats, we ended up stuck in middle seats.
Thanks in advance!

For your other question, I think there is no magic recipe in case of last-minute equipment change.

I am not aware of a document where they announce their plan for the summer season (starting 27 March 2016), but others might have it if it exists.
Apparently, AF is planning to change the ac to IAH from the current 332 to a 772 (with BEST) on 27 March. Whether this will be confirmed in a few months is always open to question, but that seems the current plan.
So, good luck.
If they keep the 332, you will end up with two central seats 4E&F (332 is 2x2x2), that is not bad.
If they change to an "old" 777, then you might end up with a middle and aisle seat. Then you probably want to try to get a window/aisle seat.
But I fully agree with all the points made by Goldorak. Just wait and see, but check periodically. To me the middle of the front cabin is fine because you are likely to be far from crying babies.

Just took an upgrade offer for a PTY-CDG on Friday. Delighted to see that it's the new J product. Never flew J on AF before.

Af 688/689 12/14/2015
Happily, and to my surprise, AF 689's 777-200ER from Atlanta today has been substituted by the new BEST 777-300ER. I have yet to fly with the new Biz cabins...and pleasant surprises are always welcomed. ^

There is of course a divider (and curtain) between J and W. I usually prefer mini-cabins like you but in that case I prefer to be at the front cause you are served more rapidly.

AFIK, AF only announced their plans for the winter season (as shown in their document "Deploiement BEST", and even that is not fully reliable.

Indeed was the substitution very welcomed, as I flew in economy, sat in 29A. Reg was F-GSQI.

I have a flight CDG-BKK in the middle of May 2016. Does anyone know if "Indian Ocean / Caribbean" planes will get new W/J seats any time soon?

P.S. Of course, if TG pulls out of CDG/BKK then AF may rethink their strategy and deploy "normal" 777, but this is highly hypothetical.

True. No plan at all for having the BEST J cabin in those birds (best case scenario is that they will get the new Y and W one day)
I doubt it. It will be too much loss on Y capacity for this route and still too many J. In the scenario where TG would go, I think AF would increase frequency (i.e. going daily when not, but still with a COI 77W). The rest of remaining TG traffic will go to ME3.

For my flight tomorrow on a Boeing 777-300ER 296 seats P-J-W-Y I can for some reason select a "front of the cabin" seat for free. I am looking at 29J as it seems not to have a seat in front of it. Is that a smart choice? Are the two seats in row 28 directly in front of 29K and 29L or misaligned? I generally prefer a window seat - does seat 29L have some space to put your legs to the right of the two seats in front? Thanks for any advice!

The announced plan was to have 27 planes (12 772 and 15 77W) with BEST by 31 December 2015.
The wiki only shows 13+10 = 23
Is the wiki outdated or AF late?
Does it mean that AF decided to include the newly-delivered ac which ahve NEV J?
