In your opinion, is J that much better than W? I know I won't get the extra bonus miles.
Edit: Oops, just realized you were flying IAD, not IAH. Still, I'll propose my questions.

HND-CDG - Y to W - 24,365 JPY (approx. $195 USD).
It's a 12 hour flight, so it felt like a bargain and I took it. Usually, AF charges ¥48,000 for W and ¥96,000 for J from Y, so this was at half the rate. Flight looks full in all cabins.

A couple of years ago, the cost was independent of the fare, even awards qualified.

Just got the email... 2000EUR J->P on my upcoming NRT-CDG.
This is the third time I get exactly the same offer and same price, though previously it was on a CDG-JFK, so not exactly the same length. The price seems to be the same for all routes.
I might be naive but, I hardly imagine anyone going for it - it would be simpler and not far more expensive to buy an F ticket.
My flight is overbooked in J (only one seat left) but looks open in P (3 unassigned seats + the 3 blocked ones), so I'm pretty sure there will be some lucky ones... I'm curious to know how they proceed for J->P upgrades.

From outstations like Tokyo, the local boss has some authority. In the past, they might followed some requests from their commercial team who might have some important clients booked in J.

Just received the offer on AF111 PVG-CDG at OLCI for CNY3,796 (EUR 530)
It's a no brainer for me and I just took it
The original booking class was Q (Economy)
I wonder what will be the new booking class and how many miles will I be credited? (FB Gold)
It will be my first on AF A380 Business
