Interesting, the a/c was at the gate and fully empty of incoming pax LONG before I got to the gate, 10-15 minutes before boarding time on the BP.

I fly this route a lot, and very often late incoming, especially the other direction, but not on this occasion. Perhaps it was delayed bc crew had enough time to eat all the nuts, bread, and desserts before letting us on, whereas normally they don't have enough time to do so.

re: the cheesecake, I would have settled for a Kit Kat

Does "WEST" mean it originated in the west?"

I had an EAST YYZ-SFO, and the food didn't match the menu. Then I had the same EAST menu on YUL-YVR, and the food did match the menu.

If United can provide me with champagne on the ground before a North American AC flight, why can't AC provide me with champagne in the air?

PLH flights no longer have the salad served before the main.

Either that, or the SD on 759 on 2017-11-05 is trying to save time/effort.

Personally speaking, as long as there is no change in quality, I support this approach. The meal (lunch, dinner) service on PLH routes take way too long.

The food needs to stay in the oven until it's hot, right?

So serving the tray with salad/bread ahead of time shouldn't impact when you get the entree.

And there's always the express option (or whatever it's called) if you want it all together.

My experience on YYZ-YVR is that 30 minutes after take off, nuts. After another 30 minute, salad. 30 minutes after, main. Another 30 minutes after, desert. While on breakfast flight, the tray comes about 1 hour after take off. So I would say the salad does have some impact on when main is being served.

I'm 95% sure the fruit and yogurt come before the omellette on PLH flights.

Yes but I don't need to wait 30 minutes for the omelette or pancake to follow up, usually 10 minutes or less.

I'm 100% sure - at least on wide bodies.

I order the Healthy Breakfast. The tray has the fruit, melba toast, 2 pieces of cheese and the yogurt. The accountants took away the half slices of cucumber and tomato. The FAs ask if you also want the oatmeal and some of them ask when.

At the same time I receive the cold items, those who ordered the omelette also receive the fruit, yogurt. Afterward, the hot meals are served. I don't remember when the bread rolls are offered as I don't eat them.

If the tray is offered from the cart, the break basket is usually on top of the cart. If the tray is served by hand, the bread basket usually comes right after that.

Ah, ok. Well, if AC ever moves on from the Viagra rolls, perhaps I'll pay more attention.

I haven't seen those rolls in months.

I, for one, like to have everything served at once. I like eating at my own pace, not dictated by the crew's serving speed, which can vary.
