What did you think of the lasagna? I think it's not bad.

I am not a fan of airline's Indian food so Lasagna was my only choice. it was surprisingly fine. I finished it.

I know pasta is "easy" but I quite like the ravioli dish.

On AC 788 LAX-YYZ, there was no pre-departure water/OJ (just handing out the mini bottles of water) even though the crew appeared to have time. J was not full. PDB was simply not on the menu card. Is this a new thing?

Menu card # 220E066-1 580 GG EAST PLH HM-NJCS 10/17

Four meal options that were underwhelming at the best. In addition to salad, vinaigrette, and bread roll, we had:

Veal stew, sage sherry sauce, potato cheese au gratin, green beans
Chicken "tandoori", yellow cumin curcuma basmati rice
Seared Atlantic salmon, Meaux mustard sauce, pearl acini pasta with tomato, carrots, broccoli
Eggplant pesto lasagna, alfredo sauce, arrabbiata sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan

I chose "none of the above" hoping to get the tray faster and go lights out, but all the trays were served at once, entree or not. Service was reasonably fast but a little bit I wish I could have leapfrogged the entree-havers and just got the salad and dessert consumed and turned in.

Furthermore, the dessert was chocolate pear cake, NOT ice cream and cookie. I enjoy that cake the most of all the rouge desserts, but the reason I look forward to mainline J PLH is the darn cookie and ice cream.

According to the menu, there was allegedly a snack basket at all times but I was so keen to sleep that I did not ask.

I believe the mini bottles of water replaced the PDB.

Since I save the bottle for later hydration, in case the cabin crew disappear (I guess I fly rouge more than ML), and also prefer OJ as PDB, I don't like this change.

I think you missed the epic new PDB thread:

Domestic predeparture beverage downgraded as of August 7, 2017

It actually started on August 6 at the very least, but whatever.

Yes I did miss that. Same story on rouge today YYZPHX. But on the up-side, I have never seen snack basket on rouge before and there it was. I even got a Kit Kat. (Slept through the basket passing but caught it in the galley.) If the basket also makes it onto YYZMCO, I will consider it a fair trade.
