AC arrivals - two issues regarding aircanada.com web site

1. Last week, a flight from Toronto to Vancouver left 1 hr left, and arrived one hour late. However, the web site, as late as a few minutes before the scheduled arrival time, still indicated that the arrival time would be on schedule. I hope this is not the exception. How quickly is the web site updated, after late flight departures and arrivals?

2. Sort of related to point 1 - can one find (on some web site) actual arrival and departure times of past AC flights, including the one alluded by me in the above point?

Thanks.

Aeroplan.ca

Is anyone one else having difficulty with the website? Every time I try to book a flight it says I've left both the departing and returning date blank, even though I've filled both of them in and have tried the same procedure on 3 different computers. HELP!!!

I had that issue this weekend. For me, I had been using airport codes (e.g. YYZ) instead of waiting a second and selecting the matching name that the website suggests. I tried again, this time selecting the airport names, and it worked. Not sure if that'll help.

According to AC.com I have moved to Afghanistan! On the booking page, it pre-fills in the billing address and it has me living in Afghanistan (the first country on the drop down menu). I cannot change it to Canada since Canada isn't in the drop down menu. Any clues?

I have had the same problem. In order to resolve it I had to log out of the Aeroplan Website and start over (including logging in) It appeared to me that it had something to do with timing out.

AP's site is down again in the middle of the day. Perhaps we can call it AP.bomb!

Did anyone notice this before? When I view online transactions or reward bookings that involve Airports such as Minsk (MSQ) or Nice (NCE), the airport name is not displayed. Strange!

The listing then reads like:

LUFTHANSA XXX - Frankfurt (DE) instead of LUFTHANSA XXX Nice (FR) - Frankfurt (DE)

I would have assumed that Aeroplan has a master list of all airports...

Something changed on aircanada.com today for simplified fares booking to Europe. Misbehaves and eventually crashes Safari now.

FATAL ERROR: Unable to receive Ajax response (status=500)

This is what I get when I click "view details" after it lists the flights for me to choose.

This issue is very familiar to me. It appears that the Aeroplan database only contains cities where you can get on AC metal or on an AC codeshare flight, but not any other destination served by *A carries. Pretty bad!

I guess this belongs here because AC.com is being stupid. But maybe it's me. Hopefully it's me, in fact, since it's easier to fix my behaviour than AC.com's.

Let's say I want to fly YUL-LHR-YYZ-YUL. I want a connection in YYZ where 4hr < x < 23h59.

I set up a multi-city trip, YUL-LHR "anytime". LHR-YYZ "morning". YYZ-YUL "evening" (the latest option).

If I choose the 14:10 arrival into YYZ, the next segment offers eight departures from 12:00 to 18:30. I can't find any way to get it to offer later departures!

There are several things wrong with this. First, the first four are impossible connections (three of them depart before arrival, the fourth is a 0:50 Intl-Dom connection). Second, at this point it has no idea what kind of ticket I'm buying, whether it allows stopovers or just connections, etc. Third, there's no way I can find to get later flights (I was hoping for 7pm or so).

Am I doing something wrong? Luckily I won't actually be booking through AC.com this time so it doesn't matter but it would be pretty stupid to pay $30 or whatever because it won't give me what I want. And I know it's not mistakenly limiting to 4hr connections because the last one is 4:20.

Is there any way around this? For research I can probably just use another site but it's frustrating.

Thanks!

... okay Travelocity.ca lets me specify preferred times and is reasonable. But for YYZ-YUL, if I say 7:00pm, it only offers 9:00pm. If I say 6:00pm, it only offers 9:00pm!

If I just look for a one-way fare on ac.com, there are flights in Tango at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00. 6,7, and 8 are expensive but the others are <$100.

... Expedia.ca offers nothing after 6:00pm, perhaps enforcing the (wrong) 4hr rule, but still offers departures from YYZ as early as 7:30am!

American Express Travel https://go.americanexpress-travel.com actually let me build it properly (as a multi-city itinerary with a 5hr connection in YYZ) and priced it at U$785.80 ($434 for airfare and the rest fees!).

Latest Aeroplan scheme to extract booking fees

Trying to book an award flight this morning I encountered an entirely new technique implemented by Aeroplan to make their website useless. After filling in all the blanks and pressing [FIND] I'm informed that
Oops! There were 2 errors on this page.
Those two errors are apparently
The following field is blank/missing: Leaving on.
The following field is blank/missing: Returning.
Notwithstanding that the fields are actually called "Departing on" and "Returning on" and not "Leaving on" and "Returning", they both actually contain valid dates as automatically entered by the website itself when I clicked on the calendar.

It boggles the mind just how many years of training and intense study it must take to become this incompetent.
