You must call in for stopovers, multi-city, or complicated routings, until the new booking system launches in 2021.

I hope others will significantly improve this wiki!

There are four zones: North America (inc Central), South America, Atlantic (including India and Western Russia), Pacific (inc Eastern Russia) and the chart is based which one you start from and which one you end up in, there's ten of these.

Cost is based on distance, which zone pair your flight is in, which class you are flying in.

Partner airlines (again) are a better deal because while Air Canada will calculate cost on a wide ranges but partner airlines are fixed to the bottom of the range.

YQ is eliminated. There's a 39 CAD fee for booking a ticket which contains a flight on a partner airline. Aside from this, there's no incentive any more to book a return flight it seems and every incentive not to.
Note: The partner booking fee is refundable, so it's basically a YQ, rather than a booking fee.

Most flights are devalued. However, the elimination of YQ sweetens this significantly. Within North America, a lot of flights became cheaper, YVR-HNL very significantly. YVR-TYO is much cheaper while YVR-AKL is a little cheaper.

A vastly more powerful booking system is promised for 2021.

There are a lot of new tricks to be learned. https://princeoftravel.com/blog/new-aeroplan-flight-rewards/ is a good start.

Information that is harder to find:
  • SE IKK redemption from the old program can be changed ("within reason") without repricing. Dates, routings, no problem. Origin/destination should be fine. But nothing that would have required a repricing under the old program. This is from Mark Nasr in https://www.facebook.com/pointsmiles...44878252851420
  • The "Activity" page only shows you the most recent ~48 transactions. See this post for information on how to get older data.
  • A partial refund may not be possible (e.g. if you book RT and outbound flight is cancelled by you or AC, to delete the first flight segment, you have to cancel the entire ticket and rebook the inbound at a potentially higher fare. It seems supervisor can grant exceptions.)

Thanks- Got it- I think you mentioned that earlier in this thread and i interpreted it differently... I am a little dense sometimes.

My understanding is that THIS YEAR you get the greater of some base for your level, and what your SQD would have earned you.

Every other year will be purely based on SQD.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but the Aeroplan eStore is available. It's combined with the site that enables you to buy merchandise with your points:

Good question... As I have crossed 3MM, I am supposed to receive 70K miles for each banked year... I have two banked years but have not received these yet.

Oh I found something even cooler for mixed cabin.

In the search filter, there's a "Mixed cabin - bar display".

Hovering over still shows 63%, but this is nice at a glance.

Anyone else having issues tying secondary cardholder to their own Aeroplan?
Using the link my card process, keeps just giving an error code, call the issuer. Called issuer who tells me that both cards show my primary number. Then I explain I am trying to link to DW account so she gets her benefits on her reservations.
They tell me to go to the same page that gets the error code. Don't know whether to HUCA issuer, try Aeroplan or just wait if others are having similar issues.

same issue, called the number it gave and they said the website was broken and to try again later. That was yesterday, and there’s still nothing working today.

If there are F options on the route, they'll show up in the search. But there's no column for F if there's no F available.

...and at this point, the only F that's bookable outside T-14 with Aeroplan miles is Etihad and ANA.

I am seeing F space on LH in the next two weeks, but since Lufthansa have now grounded or retired a good portion of their F-equipped fleet worldwide, there won't be many of their routes to even attempt.

Swiss' 3-type fleet means their widebodies all keep the F cabin for the foreseeable future, but again it's that pesky 14-day window...
Does OZ not have F anymore?

Re.the 14-day window... Better not have any AC segments on those itineraries, else they'll get re-priced when one changes on to the flight with F inventory, if doing the classic booking a placeholder then changing to something else if F inventory opens up, or simply exorbitant if making a new booking. Or have I missed something?

Oh I'm just talking about even getting F space, period. I've never done the 14-day LH/LX dance myself, I just buy my rubber ducks at the dollar store and keep the change.

Yes, OZ is phasing out first class. They stopped selling it last year, and operated the hard product as a "Business Suites" upgrade from regular J, but those are only on their grounded 380s. If the 380 fleet resumes, you may have some luck with LMU, but afaik they're not directly bookable with Aeroplan miles.

OZ has already killed F - the "Business Suites" use the F hard product as YOWgary mentioned on the A380 but the soft product is the same as J. I was looking to try this on an ICN-LAX trip next year, but in the OZ forum I was told that you cannot use points to UG to these seats from J - you can only do so from full fare J purchase.
