Wasn't the case for me. I was able to get the 115% bonus then it errored out. Eventually got a purchase at 90% but receiving 17.5K fewer miles makes me a bit disappointed as I got as far up to the payment page.

Despite getting the error page, I just checked my junk mail and got a receipt for 250k points at 10:02 EDT - with no bonus points indicated... and 13 minutes later, my balance updated to reflect only 250k.

AC owns Aeroplan, and whether the problem here was on the Aeroplan end or the points.com end, Aeroplan was the one running the promo, and if they failed to get their contractor to ensure an adequate level of service, that's on them. And Aeroplan is owned by AC.
Didn't Ticketmaster add a waiting room or something over a decade ago to deal with this type of issue?

I got in at 7:12, missing the 115% level by a minute. Got an error after hitting submit, and a message that my card was not charged. Now I have an email that my purchase was successful. But there are no points in my account.
Oh wait. It shows in my transactions.

I tried that, thinking I could sign in a couple minutes before and avoid this type of it, but it would give me an error any time I refreshed the page.
