If you've earned any miles from other activities (e.g. credit card spend) during the period, you could reduce your purchase amount further.

I was in at 7:05, Got to the buy page with the 115% bonus deal, entered my information to buy 250,000 points (+ bonus) and the transaction failed! I tried three times - all with the same results. 20 minutes later, I get a fraud alert text from TD (it is an aeroplan credit card!) asking if the points.com purchase is okay but by that time it was too late and the 115% points are gone. Bought a smaller number at 90% - but am REALLY annoyed... Who comes up with these ridiculous schemes... Considering cancelling the TD visa...

For those who know a lot more than I do about these things... does anything think this could be repeated soon, based on, what I assume to be, a great response? Decent(?) cash flow. And if flying isn't back to "normal" soon, then they could certainly use the cash.
I know my question is speculative.

Funny you should mention that:
Some issues also seemed to be on the Aeroplan side for Single Sign On, and I also got Points.com CloudFlare errors (502 Bad Gateway and 520 SSL Handshake Failed).
None of us with any long term experience with Air Canada, Aeroplan and technology should be surprised by this though - this is business as usual.

It should show up in your transactions list instantly. To have your total updated on the main screen, you probably need to log out and back in. If not... something wrong. Did you have a pending transaction on your credit card?

It would suggest that with how popular this was (highest ever traffic on the points.com website), and with Aeroplan increasing the bonus from 65% to 90% in the second hour of the promotion to try and address an unhappy group (not sure if that is actually correct), AC/Aeroplan will do this again. I bought 100K miles and got the 90% bonus. I thought about going back in to purchase more but, since it dropped to 65%, I chose not to. If they offer this again this summer I suspect I will buy more.

This seems like an expensive way to buy P25 ---- except for the fact that flights probably won't be full for a while. For a casual traveller if they could snag a bunch of exec class tickets to decent destinations (and avoid any co-pays for upgrades) it might work out.
Personally I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger. LOL
