Since this format seems to work well on other forums, for each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed (AQM):
Segments Needed (AQS):
Dollars Needed (AQD):
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (CHOOSE ONE, AND STATE THE VALUE):
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay:

Route(s) You've Already Searched:

  • For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A NEW THREAD.
  • For Required Spend or Maximum Budget: DO NOT SAY "ANYTHING" OR "CHEAPEST" OR SIMILAR BECAUSE THAT IS NOT VERY HELPFUL - STATE THE DAMN VALUE PRETTY PLEASE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP
  • If you need both AQD AND AQM or AQS, then please indicate both in their respective line item. Don't hide your second AQD/M/S requirement in some other line.
  • If you are based in YYZ or YVR, there can be many good fares to China (PEK or PVG) on Star Alliance partners. If you have a Chinese visa, include that in your request and these options will be provided.

Mileage Runs for Status & Missing AQM/AQS/AQD

I had suggested a while ago to have a single thread and perhaps a wiki to be a central gathering for every thread where a poster is missing X or Y miles/AQM for an Altitude Status level. Seems to me it would be helpful for anyone looking for ideas, suggestions.

So far, just a few of this year's the threads are:

Nov 24 2018 AC 18K Mileage Run

Nov 4 2018 mileage run planning to reach 100K

Nov 3 2018 Milage run to get to 75k?

Aug 13 2018 Advice Requested: Should I do a mileage run for E35K?

May 22 2018 Help with 20k MR to SE

Apr 17 2018 Quickest way to get to 50K

........

I think maybe if you rename the thread title (with the assistance of mods so it displays correctly on the forum page) to include at least "Master Thread" and have the mods merge the current ones into it and use it as a launching point for future such posts... otherwise, this trend will continue. I think people prefer to have their own thread so that it gets some separate traction and doesn't get muddled in with everyone else's "I'm short 99,800 miles or 100,000 miles to reach SE" type threads.

@yyznomad
Thanks for the great suggestion. You're right. I've alerted the mod.

+1

If we want to have something AC specific, we could always get picky and format the requests like they do (mostly) on this thread:

UA/Star Alliance: 2017-2018 Consolidated Mileage/Status/Challenge Runs help needed

Makes sense to me. At least it will be consistent... somewhat.

I'm game to try:
I was hoping for and hit E35K this year, currently sitting at just over 35K but have a few flights confirmed which will bring me to just over 45K (YEG-YVR-YYZ, return YYZ-YEG Flex and YVR-LHR J with return in 2019).

Departure Airport: YVR or YEG
Miles Needed: 5000
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): AQD met (300% worth.. shame to be so over in one category and lacking in another!)
Available Travel Dates: Dec1,2 Dec6,7
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: Anything for AQM

Route(s) You've Already Searched: UA YVR-SFO
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)? Nope

I added a piece to the Wiki on desired format for requests. Stolen from the UA/*A forum so we will see if this sticks.

Available Travel Dates: any
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: all good
Route(s) You've Already Searched: none
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)? no

if you don't need AQM or AQD, just a segment then I highky suspect YVR-YYJ will be the overall cheapest cost. You can book standard economg fare. To save more you could use cheaper means of returning to YVR such as the ferry.

you can verify at

Google.com/flights
from YVR to "canada"

I did exactly that one year when I needed one more segment. Flew in, took the ferry back as a walk-on.

Right now, YVR-YYJ one way is as a low as $112 in December in Standard.

Something like https://www.google.com/flights?gl=ca...141*.CAD.75141

Paid J on UA, so reasonably comfortable, and you should get some SDC options if you're *G that would let you shorten the trip.

Will be short roughly 2200 AQM to 50k, and hoping to hit *G for the first time.

Departure Airport: YYZ
Miles Needed: 2200
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): Would prefer to spend less than CAD 1000, but some flexibility
Available Travel Dates: Dec 7 - here's the catch: hoping for a same day return if possible - is this too risky for Canada in Dec? Would a return flight be "protected" the way connections are?
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: Codeshares okay - I am over the AQD threshold

Route(s) You've Already Searched: AC YYZ-YHZ in J is the current frontrunner at $1250 RT, but if I can do it for cheaper...
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)? No

Thanks in advance everyone!
