AC 18K Mileage Run

Hey Guys,

My trip to the UK for the first week of December just got pushed back into January and now I'm 18K AQM short of re-qualifying for SE. I'm way over on AQD but need a run that will for sure get me to 100K AQM. Ideally I'd like to spend less than $3K with lie flat beds but the best I can find is this one for $3640:

Any thoughts on a potentially better solution? The first week in December would be the ideal time for me to go but I'm somewhat flexible midweek. Your input and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Andrew

How about TPE in PY. Leaves the day before. Might be easy to upgrade as a SE?

Depends on how committed you are to being in J. YYZ-YVR-TPE in PE will net you ~20,140 AQM and can be had for around $2,200 depending on your dates. If you are willing to do two trips you could do a round-trip to HNL on UA J for $1,400 which would give you ~14K and then do a domestic trip somewhere to push you over the top.

Great ideas, thanks. Pardon my ignorance but when United posts their "PQM" would that figure ALWAYS equal the same on AC for "AQM"??

I was going to suggest the same or Dubai.

I did last month in PE YYC-YEG-YVR-TPE-YVR-YEG-YYC and received 16,758 AQM so from YYZ you get the mileage you need. From here is about $1,600 cdn all in return.

For Dubai in PE YYC-YVR-YYZ-DXB-YYZ-YVR-YYC its 23,474 AQM fo about $1,700 on sale. If I am flying J I want to enjoy it on a wide body so backtrack to YVR and squeeze a few extra AQM, same price!

No. Until 12/31, P fares (which the cheap UA HNL fares book into) earn 200% PQMs on UA, but only earn 150% AQM on AC. Flying YYZ-IAH-SFO-HNL on UA will get you about 15,900 AQM in relative comfort. It would earn over 21,000 PQMs on UA.

I agree with others that PE to Asia is a good idea if you want to knock it off in one trip without breaking the bank.
