From post #49 in this thread, here's one potential way to (re)inflate an AC seat:
  • Go the home screen "Your Seat". (find this on the seat side panel; not the main video screen)
    • Hold the top left hand corner "Air Canada" (with AC logo) for 3 seconds. Updated (Apr 9 18): may need to hold for as long as 45 seconds for key pad to appear
      • Dial pad shows up - hit 3-2-1.
        • Press "Reset Lumbar Support"
Note that this method has not met 100% success so YMMV.
A better method is for a crew member to use the reset switch under the seat, on the aisle side.

Compensation offers (green/white sheet completed)
40K AE- Apr 18 (50% back of the J class one way redemption)
2018 Jun - $500 coupon
2018 Sep $1,000 eCoupon or 40K AP (P fare TPAC)
2018 Sep $500 eCoupon (P fare TPAC) (no change on protest- update - 6 months later the $150 was increased to $500 - admitted they had made an error)

Compensation offers (no green/white sheet completed)
100K - May 5 (C$150 eCoupon; was moved to a functioning seat after meal service)
2017 Sept - 8,000 AE miles - reported via complaint web page after realizing it was a faulty seat, not standard discomfort; Asked for return of eUps but they declined.
2017 Nov & 2018 Feb - $500 coupons both times (second time on protest that $500 had been offered the previous time)
2018 Sep. $250 coupon (on a paid J TATL).
2018 Nov - $500 eCoupon (J TATL)

Standard eCoupon compensation offers (no haggling; following a recurring pattern)
~10+ hours: $1000
Long TPAC (TPE-YVR)

~6 to ~10 hours: $500
Short TPAC (NRT-YVR)
TATL
South America: YYZ-GRU

less than ~6 hours: 300

Have a Service Director (SD) That Is Giving You the Case of the Shrugs? Like the real life version of this ASCII emoji -> ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ?

No success with the SD and/or crew rectifying your deflated seat and you can't be/aren't accommodated to another J seat? If you asked for a compensation form and the SD says they have no idea what you are talking about, you can use the below picture of the stub portion to help freshen their memory (better than nothing)...

Please note that for the longest time, the "Green Compensation Form" version was used, and there have been recent reports of the "White Compensation Form" replacing the Green version. Reports here have indicated that the two forms are virtually identical except for the colour.
There is now an even newer White Form which explicitly lists "deflated seat" and "deflated seat and fixed", among many other items.

Here is a snapshot of the NEWEST full form (as of August 2019), courtesy of lallied

Not sure MUC was necessarily related to EYW but this observation could be quite useful for me in the near future.

Update:
Deflation happened on my seat yesterday (YVR-ICN). Tried the trick above with no luck. Reported it to the SD, who came over and said that he knew a "trick" but it had been disabled on 787s in a recent software "upgrade". But he thought it still worked on 777s. He tried a few other things from the manual, but none worked - didn't spend too long on it as the seat behind was empty, so I just moved there.

The solution that has always (at least temporarily) worked for me is a reset switch near the ground in the aisle that requires reaching under the seat.

If they haven't been on their knees beside your seat, they haven't tried everything.

Icn - yyz seat 6A deflated today

My seat 6a deflated in ac062 today after I went into lie-flat. SD didn't know what to do and just tried to reboot the seat from their console upfront at the bulkhead...tried twice, didn't work. Offered me a pillow, they seemed aware that the issue wasn't new. Then they have me a green compensation form to sign, and they pre-filled out two checkboxes that flagged lumbar support and lower leg as malfunctioning. There is no checkbox option on the form for mattress issues. I picked AC credit for future travel instead of points.

this also happened on the way to Asia yvr-tpe nov12, that FA tried to reset the seat from the floor, which also didn't work.

Pathetic, how can you guys not tell this is just a new feature that is currently rolling out fleetwise. (In fact, there are now more widebodies with deflating seats than wifi, potentially a first in NA)
Its time to shape up thou bottoms!
Do not even attempt to reboot, resistance is futile

Well I just wrote in about my Nov 19 MUC-YYZ flight.

They've got my expectations set on another $500 credit.

Wow, I've been lied to. On my last GRU-YYZ flight, the agent said 'no more green comp sheets. they don't exist anymore'. Her name was Cathy (Catherine) and new to the route but familiar with the seat issues.

Wow. So customer relations says "you didn't get an on board form so we dont compensate", and on board they say "there are no forms to be given out for these kind of issues".

That's just great.

Also an interesting note: A reply from a flight attendant when I faced this very issue of deflating seats in business class was "We don't use the green form anymore."

If the green cards are gone, ask for documentation you filed a complaint.

They just tell me to go online and file a complaint. Not much use or confidence that any compensation will be received if the incident is never logged onboard. I'm not happy with the direction this is going.

I had the exact same cabin crew reply with my most recent Deflategate experience. Then Customer Care says "without a green form, we can only offer you a discount code." Boo.

SO is there a green form or not ?
And if there is have the FAs been asked to not give them out for deflating seats ? Maybe too common a issue?
Seems weird if they hand them out for inoperable IFE but not for deflating seats on a 14 hr flight.

Not totally impossible. I can see the airline not being super thrilled about tossing $500 vouchers left and right.
