Are the upgrades just the difference in fares? I've noticed recently that my upgrade prices have been the original fare difference...

My bid for upgrade has been accepted and the money deducted from my card. But I still see my seat in the original EC section. I can't reserve a seat.
how can I reserve seats in the upgraded class online?

Bid with miles has finally launched.

You need to be logged in to your Aeroplan account, and viola:

For the record, the "cash" option is $350 CAD, so they're giving you 1cpm.

I can bid 35k miles to upgrade a paid SFO-YVR ticket, or I can just book J for 25k miles. And I suspect longer 25k routes are even more expensive.

Anyone have experience with the bid upgrades during COVID times? :) Thinking about buying Y and trying a J upgrade on LAX-YYZ just after Labor Day.

YYZ-YOW is CAD75 or 9570 miles with some sort of discount promo running now.

If someone needed the free bags, priority boarding and lounge - great deal.

AC7939 YYZ-YQR L fare booked 1 week in advance, original price difference between that and Business (lowest) (P) was $600. Bid range was $180-500, successful bid at $185.

Hi Everyone, I am new to the community and also curious about AC bidding during Covid times.
YYZ-MUC fare booked in PE lowest, around 10 days in advance, and looking to bid to upgrade to J. Today is T-3 with the following: J9 C9 D9 Z9 P7 R7 O9 E9 N9 Y9 B9 M9 U9 H9 Q9 V9 W9 S9 T9 L9 K9 F0.
Lowest bid is $575 which based on my reading of these forums seems super low. Thinking of bidding $800 one way. Any idea of whether Covid has impacted competitiveness of bids?

Thanks in advance. This thread, incidentally, has been illuminating.

With those numbers I'd probably bid the minimum.

I cancelled my bid for $300 on J for YYC-YYZ. Numbers look low. I'm expecting a sub $300 on checkin

YYZ to YYC on Sept 10. Booked in Y and bid minimum for PE $185 (each/2 passengers). Upgrade confirmation email came at 2:31AM ET this morning. I don’t have expert flyer subscription so not sure about passenger load. If I remember correctly minimum bid for J was $390.
