Can someone check EF for me? I put in a bid upgrade from Economy to Business class on AC91 GRU to YYZ on March 19 for the default/“pretty good” amount of $1250 per seat. Wanted to know what our chances are. Thanks!

You would think at T-48 hours they would take the $1250 in cash instead of letting SE's or others use E-ups....

Sorry what does that mean? I’m kinda new to all of this. Thanks!
There are 4 Business Class & 6 PY seats left for sale. |

You did ask for someone to check EF.
There are 4 Business Class & 6 PY seats left for sale. Another stupid question, when I go into AC to book the flight it shows 13 open in business, are those seats that haven’t been selected yet by people who have already purchased flights? |

Those SEs you reference might already have paid for PY fares, fly greater than 100 segments/yr, or spend well in excess of $20k/yr on AC. It's just possible that AC views their Lifetime Value worth enough to throw them a few crumbs from time to time. |

It's a 77L so there are 40 seats in J. ExpertFlyer shows "at least" 9 J seats are available. Seat maps are not accurate indicators of seats left as some ppl don't/can't select their seats upon purchase. PY is quite full though. J9 C9 D9 Z0 P0 R0 O1 E0 N0 Y9 B9 M9 U9 H9 Q9 V9 W9 S9 T0 L0 A0 K0 G0 F0
If I were you, I'd put in a bid at 5% above the min. AC will sell you those seats before they release them for eUpgrades (I think). PS - Welcome to FT! I appreciate you taking a look at that information for me! In this context, two weeks before the flight, is it reasonable to suggest that the remainder of the business class seats will fill up mostly through bidding/e-upgrades? If so, that makes me a bit more optimistic at the very least. However, I'm not sure if the number of seats available at this point in time is above average for these types of cross-Pacific flights. Only 5% over the minimum price seems risky to my completely inexperienced self but it certainly makes my wallet happy! I'll follow your lead! Thanks again. |

But as it's been said ad nauseum here... the seatmap is generally not a good indicator of things, other than showing which seats are available/not available for selection. |
It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me check EF on the following two flights! Thank you!

What are my odds?
I am new to the bidding for upgrade, and have a few questions.
1. If I already paid extra for premium economy(exit rows with more leg room), does that improve my chance compared to someone who bids the same from regular economy class? 2. How to determine a reasonable bid? 3. will I get a seat if I bid the highest? I currently placed lowest bid available(US $860) for upgrade to Business class. I wonder what a reasonable bid should be? Will I get upgrade if I bid the highest in the $1500 range? I would appreciate it if anyone can look up how many seats are available in business class. AC28, 3/18/2022, Shanghai to Toronto |

And while I am not a moderator, nor play one on FT, maybe it's time for a gentle reminder that we have a whole dedicated thread for theses kind of things (The Official Fare Bucket Check Request Thread) that might yield a faster turnaround for requestors. Just sayin'. |
Do tickets need to be on 014 stock in order to be eligible? The FAQ's only mention that your flight needs to be operated by AC.
Trying to figure out if my flight on AC557 is eligible, but plugging in my PNR into the site says its either invalid or I've made a mistake. Ticket is on SQ stock, but when the PNR was automagically added to my Aeroplan account when I made the booking so I'm quite sure it's valid. |
