That is definitely not a correct statement. There are many cases where that will not be true.

Submitted a decent bid above min for an upcoming flight. Bidding to J from A. First flight segment cleared instantly at -48 hours as usual. Second flight segment neither approved or denied at -48 like I’m used to. Still sitting pending. Any ideas why still pending? About -36 now.

Hoping for some help (lurker on this thread). Flight AC854 YYZ --> LHR on Monday, May 2nd, booked myself and my daughter in economy class and used 11eUpgrades (waitlist). The cost for guaranteed upgrade is $1,650.00 pp, min. bid is $1,050.00 pp. I am 75K.

I also have AA YYZ --> LGA (biz), JFK --> LHR (flagship first) as a backup, but we'd have 6 hours between flights and I am not fond of dealing with the border if I don't have to. Would rather have direct flight with AC.

I don't have an EF membership so I can't see seat availability in biz class.

Any help is appreciated ;)

If it's still pending Revenue Management thinks they can sell it but will wait until closer to boarding. They will likely offer it at a higher price at -24 for check in upgrades and then potentially upgrade you.

Not looking so good and the other two flights of the evening are even worst.

I just booked a mixed class ticket through air canada vacations to Mexico leaving on May 11th. I was able to book business class on the way home but on the way there the system only allowed me to get premium economy as part of the package. Has anyone been successful getting a bid as part of a package? Currently it’s not even giving me the option. Would I be eligible for a last minute upgrade at check in? Or by booking a vacation package am I screwed lol

We will grab a bite at Susur Lee's restaurant (I have PP so only pay cash for tip) before we board and get nice and comfy. Shouldn't be too bad. Beats flying through the US.....I think.

At a guess, your outbound is on AC Rouge which markets business class as Premium Rouge. That is probably why there are no upgrade options available to you. If you are on mainline, then you’d need to be on a wide body for there to be PY.

Within North America/Sun destinations, Premium rouge is business class. It books in to the same fare classes, and if they swap mainline for rouge, you'll be moved from mainline J to Premium rouge, and vice versa.

Looking to upgrade. Minimum bid is 230 or instant upgrade is 440ish (I can't remember exact). Right now the flight is.....

Also if I instant upgrade would I have access to the Maple Leaf Signature Suite? I know I wouldn't with the bid upgrade. It's not the end of the world if we don't upgrade I just wanted to surprise hubby... we haven't had a vacay in years.

happened again on my return flight, using a different card. UK cards usually always need an approval for a purchase and this can’t be done as the payment goes through when the bid is accepted it seems

Thanks. I was under the impression from earlier posts that if it was R0 there was very little chance. Good to know. I’ll try the minimum, if it works great. If not, then PY it is!!!

Hi everyone! i am new to this forum as well!

my flight is about 2 months out from now- and i was offered a min bid of $260CAD to upgrade to business class.

My original economy fare cost (roundtrip)(i used my aeroplan miles) about $470 CAD and I checked that a business fare as of now is about $980CAD- it seems like it might be a better option for me to buy a business ticket directly instead of bidding.

My question is..is the minimum bid static at $260 CAD or is it going to fluctuate as the flight date gets closer (possibly a lower minimum bid <$260 CAD)?
