AC 930 yyz to cun on may 11th A330-300
minimum bid was $220 from Premium economy to J
Never showed any R space since I booked last month. Was showing J8 R0 for weeks and then when I checked EF last night every single seat was blocked. 12 in J, 5 in Y and at least 20 in economy. I decided to min bid with points 15K a seat (needed 2). At exactly T-48 I got the approved email. EF is now sitting at J4R0 and the rest are still blocked 🤷🏻‍♀️. So basically I have no idea how it works or why but it did lol

I have also sent a bid in the medium to top half range but minus 48 is going to be on Friday noon. So far there are 5 seats available. Do they accept any bids if there are seats available or they may not accept the bid and go with empty seats?

I have found they go with any bid. I always bid the lowest and have been successful as long as there is seats showing on the plane. I think they figure, some money is better than giving it away for "free"

My most recent bid - A330 (old cabin) for my flight on Friday was not accepted, however they had stopped selling J for that flight, so I knew it was a long shot.

I see that they are still selling on my flight but tomorrow 1200 is the deadline. On expert flyer they still have 5 seats available for seat selection but if someone can again check for me how many seats are still available on AC 061 on the 15th May, I would greatly appreciate it.

I just checked in for my flight and it offered me an upgrade to business for $980 after declining my bid of $375

Should also mention that this is YYZ-YYC on the old A330-300

Thank you very much. Guess it is the window seat in PE for me then. I am in the bulkhead row and three seats are still available for seat allocation. One is the last row, aisle seat and right now there is no one sitting next but with that numbers, it is bound to be taken anyway.

SFO-YUL on May 25, looking at a minimum of $400 per person. I bought the cheapest fare, and paid for assigned seats. So, yeah with the A220 seating 2 seats, I think I’ll save $800 and sit in the back.

New to this with Air Canada, but booked an economy ticket for an upcoming trip from EWR to Calgary. The difference between economy and business is about 1,100 USD. If I bid $600 USD or $700 do you think it will get accepted? Even $500? Are these instant sometimes? Thanks, all.

T-39hrs and my bid is still "pending."

Do I have any chance still?

J=0 when I placed my bid, but one J spot just opened up at T-41hrs.

I've also requested an e-upgrade, so I have that, and also the possibility of paying for an upgrade outright at OLCI if J space is sitll available. Still, wondering if there's any hope with the bid.

You'll need a crystal ball as it depends on many factors: flight loads, day of week, etc. But the rule of thumb is: if you want to fly J, then you should buy J" Bid upgrades (and eUps) should be considered as a bonus.

This route both ways depending on time of days is tough to upgrade. No surprise they offer that. I've seen it as high as 2K plus for an upgrade. It can be quite ridiculous.

I haven’t flown since January and noticed that on the air canada app the seating map no longer shows business class? Disappointing because that definitely helped decide how to bid.

Flying yyz to yyt sunday the 12th and hoping my low bid is accepted.
