(BTW Godiva is not really Belgian anymore either. I go for Neuhaus; although the name sounds German it's the real thing.)
That is all very well but I think we can agree that they look to be a cut above Kit Kat.

I never said they were Belgian. Nor are they Godiva. All I know is CX and SQ not only offer these delicious chocolates, but CX's flights YYZ-HKG have vastly better snacks than AC on the same route.

Absolutely both CX and SQ are making clear choices to use something better that KitKat bars. Getting back to AC.... They should be flying the Canadian Flag.

Western Canada had some good chocolate choices:

- Purdys - https://www.purdys.com/
- Rogers - http://www.rogerschocolates.com/
- Bernard Callebaut - http://bernardcallebaut.com/users/folder.asp

There are also some excellent chocolate manufactures out of Montreal.

AC would be a step ahead using any of these.

(Bolding mine)

Yes, Absolutely.

Oh thanks for this karachi

In YYJ, I was speaking with gabdusch and moorwoo3 about this family and what a great success and could not remember the name of the company.

Great Canadian story that AC should do its part to highlight.

I would go for Daniel Le Chocolat Belge in Vancouver ahead of any/all of these. There are Callebaut stores nearby here, but Callebaut fillings are nowhere near as good as Daniel's ones. Unfortunately only stores in Vanvoucver and I believe Toronto.

Do they do a dessert on the later night flights? We are on AC858 and it looks like just fresh fruit.

No dessert other than the fruit + cheese plate served on the tray.

Misses the minerality of a good burgundy. But does not seem all that cheap. I suspect emphasis on fruit, which is not what I go for.

Volpaia Citto Toscana (Italy) CAD 13-15. Volpaia is one of the better chianti folks. At least their reserve is one of the best chianti. But this is their lower brands and it's cheap.

Masroig Rojalet Selecció, Montsant (Spain) USD 8.70. So probably 12-15 in Canada? Montsant is good value. Kind of Priorat on the cheap; but then usually you get what you pay for. Also, fruit rather than minerality. n my book, when young priorat is not really drinkable. Really need aging to round off the edges.
I finally had a chance to try two of these. While the pinot noir is easily the most expensive, it came across precisely as I expected. Pinot noir fruit, clearly yes. But otherwise, no character, no minerality.

The Montsant on the other hand is a good choice. Even if it is indeed quite cheap.

In contrast, they currently serve a feudi di San Grigorio aglianico, which prices at $22.50 in Quebec. So it seems that indeed they budget for better wines on domestic than international...

I am no great fan of Feudi di San Grigorio, a newish and very commercial operation. We do buy their Taurasi, which is obviously more expensive and better, not a bad value. The AC wine is a bit rough at the edges; I had a har time deciding between it and the Malbec. But as most Argentinian wines, at least at the low end, the malbec is a bit too sweet for my taste. Still OK, not like cheap California. But still...

Barramundi raising its ugly head, again

This time, it seems the river fish swam from Australia to Rome.

Absolutely inedible. Not only was it totally dry, it stinked. I left it all on my plate.

Likewise, serving cheaper wines than on domestic. Even though presumably on international they must be tax-free.

You got to wonder what's the J catering budget nowadays. My impression is that AC has decided people fly J for the lie flat bad and don't care about dinner.

Obviously if they make dinner awful enough this will join the ranks of the self-fulfilling prophesy.

Here's really hoping it's off the menu when I'm flying from FCO to YYZ later this month.

AC43 - DEL-YYZ - June 10th 2017

Sorry, no pictures of the food. I appreciated the tomatoes and bocconcini starter, the cheese was tasty, fresh and creamy.

I had the chicken makhani which was highly recommend by the FA, especially flying out of DEL. It was good, but not awesome - especially after eating (the whole spectrum of bad to awesome) Indian food for 10 days.
