Flights operated by Air Canada rouge

NOTE: Rouge Wifi information can be found here
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...l#post28448087

Dates in brackets indicate planned start of rouge service (either as a new route or replacing mainline service). ML placed before a date indicates the date that service is reverting to mainline.

All Airbus A319/A321 service is in the new Premium Rouge configuration with 2x2J seats. All other routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in a 24J/258Y layout.

Airport codes in blue indicate that these routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft for all services.
Airport codes in red indicate that these routes are split between Boeing 767-300ER and Airbus services.
Airport codes in black indicate that these routes are Airbus aircraft for all services.

Routes are organized based on the established rouge bases of YYZ, YUL, YYC, and YVR

Thanks. They are business class, not Premium Rouge. They are on a 767-300. Seat Guru calls them Open Suites. I am not surprised to hear they are not lie-flats but I was sure hoping -- we still have to go on from Vancouver to Ontario and it is one long journey home.
Were the seats comfortable at least?

You're looking at the wrong seat map, you're looking at main line 763s, which have the classic business class pod.

This is what you want.

Premium rouge on North American flights is business class, whereas on international it's premium economy.

As for comfort, they're okay for short flights. Last time I was on one my butt started hurting after an hour.

Two weeks ago FLL-YYZ the flight number was not filled in for J. I have two more flights on that route in the next three weeks so I'll have a larger data set to report on.

On flights where they do fill out the number I usually ask for a blank form instead because I'm always one form ahead (I fill them out in advance on the ground so I don't have to mess around with them onboard and it's never a certainty that my next return flight will be the same segment).

... of course a somewhat personal and subjective answer - I found them to be 'OK' in recline mode, but really uncomfortable when upright. In general not great, but passable ... let's just say after 6 hours I was glad to be getting off the plane.

Sigh. You are right, of course. I dummy booked it through Air Canada...I'm not impressed that Aeroplan was calling it Business Class. Those red eyes from Hawaii are killers...the United Business seats are terrible...the things we do for sun!!

Some UA flights from HNL to the mainland are operated with lie-flat seats.

I am booked on this particular 757 variant (version 2) from HNL to DEN this winter with lie flat seats:

https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...57/200/v2.aspx

The price was significantly cheaper than what ACr was demanding for the same day.

UA lie flat is presently offered HNL SFO, EWR and DEN. You will have to check sked to find out exact times, since some flights have shifted for the summer. UA is re-configuring their HNL ( domestic ) 777s to add lie flat, I think the first of these has just entered service. In peak times UA has subbed 3 class 744's on the SFO and Ord HNL routes. I have run into the rouge crowd in the UC in HNL
flying the 11:30pm HNL YVR flight in PY connecting to an early YYZ flight in Y.
Made me very thankful to be flying to YYZ via EWR in J with pmco lieflats on the 764.

If you want to be a pretzel when you arrive, seats are fine. I found the one flight I did extremely uncomfortable in PR. I can't even imagine what it would be like in the back. The flight was 6+ hrs.

UA is not currently running the lie-flats on HNL-SFO. The 764 got taken off and was replaced with a 737, although like you mention, sometimes there are substitutions. Also, HNL-DEN is only using lie-flat 752s during part of the year. They use domestic Hawaii-configured 772s for the rest of the year.

That is great news. It will be worth the extra cost and hassle to fly from OGG to HNL in order to take advantage of the flat seats. Thanks.

YYZHNL gets a haircut

YYZHNL getting trimmed next Winter. First flight not until Christmas day and frequency chopped to 1*weekly.

I didn't think this route would even be brought back or survive this long. One foot in the grave for sure.

I don't know why ACr has chosen to operate this weekly flight on a Sunday. Saturday would make more sense.

The premium that ACr has demanded for PR on this non-stop direct service is ridiculous. One can fly UA for about half the cost albeit requiring 1~2 stops, depending on the itinerary selected. 2 stops are more expensive than 1 stop.

Some of the UA flights have lie flat seats (their version of international business class seat).

Huh?

I value my time. If I can fly non stop I will. What's the price differential?

I really really detest stops. It's just a "thing" that I care about. I realize the UA hard product may be better, but again, I detest stops

Agree 100%.
Sun PM exYYZ?? Could not think of a worse departure time and day for a destination like Hawaii. Baffling.
