Pleased to report that while CM took 5 days to post the first segment, it posted correctly even with the additional digit added to my AC number. The following day the next flight posted at exactly 5 days as well.Originally Posted by PointWeasel

I also sent an email off to the Director, Customer Experience for CM concerning the bizarre check-in issues at MEX and I received a detailed reply within a few hours and I also an offer of compensation for the hassle and time wasted that was both unexpected and generous. The compensation has already been received by me and I am shocked at the speed in which this matter was addressed. ^
Just a heads up for anyone travelling on UA, TA or CM via MGA, lol. Only CM Business Class pax are permitted access to the Sala VIP. I was permitted entry on my connection there last week but once inside I couldnt believe all the fuss about entry. It it worse than a 1970s rec room. And when I requested a second Coke from the attendant I was sternly told "only 1 beverage per visit" and she walked away.
Perhaps she knows that I really didnt need that extra sugar anyways.
As far as the AV upgrade issue, I was specifically told my the AV Business Class counter that they dont do Star Gold upgrades so perhaps the 2 agents were uninformed; hence, why I indicated that AV never does it. If others got the upgrade, then awesome.
I stand by the fact that CM never does, lol. After 6 segments with them last week, nothing. I grabbed exit rows on all flights so I was fine but the E90 I took on a 4 hour flight with no entertainment really sucked. Great job AC, I love your E90s in comparison! ^
Still nothing for me...and I'd have hit the SE threshold by now!
Ah well...that should happen in a couple days when my flights on CA today post (assuming no credit issues there...).

Just called in for an update and was told that the escalation process can take up to 10 weeks due to the need for "manual verification" - whatever that means.
[Rant]
I understand that the two airlines have to speak to each other, but in this day and age, is there really an excuse for something like this taking 10 weeks? I've sent in everything they requested (and more) via e-mail, including:
1) My ticket, clearly showing my booking class.
2) An AE.com screenshot, proving the booking class's eligibility.
3) My boarding passes, evidencing my presence onboard.
Shouldn't this be as quick as taking a look and saying "Yep, we screwed up. Give the man his miles."?
As mentioned, I will thankfully make it over the SE threshold with some flights I took yesterday. But if the circumstances were different, and this lengthy delay caused me to miss the early qualification deadline and thus a chance to upgrade a long-haul flight at the 7-day window, I would be quite peeved.

The 10 weeks comment is a new one, I have only ever received the standard 6 to 8 weeks for manual verification. I suspect that when you reach the 7 to 8 week mark, some agents would prefer to just tell you it will take more time just to get you off the phone.Originally Posted by AC888

The dont put this frustrating Star Alliance experience in those fluffy billboard and magazine ads. Seamless travel on 27 partners, my a#$.
I hear ya AC888, still nothing here either and I've thought about the same rant.
*UPDATED/CONCLUSION*
So Avianca rejected all three of AE's requests to credit this flight. Avianca apparently kept saying my name could not be found in their system - boarding passes, invoice, and itinerary all submitted. AE has manually credited me the status miles for the flight post dated to June. No SE bonus but I'm okay with that to just put it to bed.

data point: AV flight miles posted in AP 3 days after my recent AV flight

More than 3 months after my flights, I too can finally report that AE has manually credited me the requisite status miles for my flights on TACA. In my case, TACA insisted that my fare class was ineligible for mileage earning despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary (boarding passes, tickets showing the fare class, and screenshots demonstrating the eligibility of that fare class). I still think it's a little ridiculous that AE requires a 10 week waiting period (when it was very clear that TACA wasn't going to do anything) before finally taking action. Thankfully, I didn't need these miles to cross a status threshold or redeem a flight, but I can imagine that delay being a significant inconvenience for someone who did.
Also, I must say I was quite fortunate that I had an e-ticket that showed the fare class. I know not all online booking engines and/or travel agencies provide that in writing. I'm not sure I would have ever gotten these miles without that piece of evidence.
Went to the Aeroplan site to request a missing mileage credit for an Avianca fligh that I took from Bogota to Washington Dulles and in the pull down menu of Star Alliance airlines, it doesn't show Avianca as an available airline.
What gives? Avianca is still a Star Alliance Partner. Is this an AP "enhancement" that I missed?

I don't think you can do that online. You need to send a request by mail.
Avianca is listed on the pull down menu but entering the data does not work. Error message indicates that flight number is not correct (and it clearly is correct)
Called aeroplan. Agent very pleasant but could do nothing but put note in file and advised to send in info. Did that two weeks ago and suspect I will be waiting for a while yet.
Second flight (and I entered aeroplan numbers myself on this one - relied on Air Canada the first time) now 2 weeks ago with no miles yet credited.
Flights were booked with Air Canada.
Presume Avianca hopes that I will give up.
Should get hassle miles in addition to those due.

@:-) "hassle miles" - what a great idea! I suggest if you have to work hard to get legitimate miles, they should double the miles.Originally Posted by annehamnitz

I wouldn't be so quick to point the fingers at AV quite yet.Originally Posted by annehamnitz

I submitted an 'urgent' email request to [email protected] over a month ago with my 3 missing AV/TA segments from February 2014 after the imperfect, yet mandatory, online credit request form also rejected my flights.
As of last week, no one has even bothered to review the request at Aeroplan.
I have to ask, were these true AV-operated flights? AV is faster to post overall than former TA fights in my experience over the past 2 years.
Hang in there. Out of principle, don't give up. More importantly though, if there any Aeroplan lurkers reading this: you online crediting system is awful and your mileage credit desk in Vancouver is understaffed obviously if they can't read an Elite members email concerning missing flight credits that directly effect the next threshold bonus.
Avianca flights posting
Hi,
Does anyone have any idea how long it takes for Avianca flights to post to Altitude / Aeroplan? FF number was on my original reservation / boarding cards so I was wondering if I should go ahead and apply for the manual credit or just wait it out?
Thanks!
