Novotel Rockford Adelaide

Name of the hotel: Novotel Rockford Adelaide
What is your Le Club status: Platinum
Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? No
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? "Superior" - probably ended up with one of the worst rooms in the hotel with obviously no upgrade.
How are the rooms? In my opinion not up to the standard of a 4 star hotel in an Australian CBD location. We'll try the other Accor option (The Sebel) next time we stay in Adelaide

What did I like: No good points about this hotel. Accor Platinum treatment non existent.
What could be improved: Elite benefits provided to Platinum members.

I should have written a report on this last year when I was there in Oct 2013 after the new Accor Elite benefits took place.

No Plat recognition, no welcome drinks, no upgrade - given same room.
Even a slightly later check-out time I must fight for it.

Oh well.

Stayed in Four Points Sheraton Perth the next night. Got a Suite and full SPG Plat recognition.

Looks like Aussie properties still a mixed bag Accor. Hope to see some improvements as the properties get trained!

Not to mention that Aussie properties will charge additional charge for adult who stays in the room; I remember that Novotel Sydney charges 60 AUD/person so you will get different prices if you book their 2 Bedroom Suites for 1 person; 2 person; 3 person; 4 persons; perhaps they will charge additional extra bed in addition to the existing additional person charge if there's 5th persons in the room.

Owh, haven't I told u that 60 AUD/person not include breakfast ???
It would be another 30 AUD.

Do you know why the loyalty program at Accor is named Le Club?

Because the number of members getting benefits is very select

- Name of the hotel: Pullman, Albert Park

- What is your Le Club status? Advantage + Plat

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Very

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Used Advantage Plus Free night + paid $20 for room upgrade when booking.

- How are the rooms?
Excellent - had great views over the park. Well appointed.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Bad: Wireless signal was a little on the weak side - ended up using my own device.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
Yes, had breakfast and were the only couple that morning. No hot food was prepared - but we were given (free) choice from the restaurant breakfast menu. Staff great!

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Yes - I've already booked a return trip for business.

- Name of the hotel:
Sofitel Moorea la Ora Beach Resort

- What is your Le Club status?
Gold

- Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
Reasonably happy but it rained just about all day and all night for the 6 night stay.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Lagoon view Bungalow and got Lagoon view Bungalow.
I asked if it was an upgrade and was told "Absolutely" but I doubted it, it would be a first if it was.
- How are the rooms?
Bungalow was very nice.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Location

Bad:
Check in,
We arrived 1 hour early and were left waiting till about 1 hour after check in time before we asked again and our room still was not ready but was ready shortly thereafter.
It really puts a dampener on a stay when you are ignored for 2 hours.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
Not sure it had one, not offered if it did.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Reasonable value for Tahiti, may return but probably back to BoraBora rather than Moorea.

- Name of the hotel: Pullman Stuttgart Fontana

- What is your Le Club status? Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
I believe it was a standard room, albeit on floor 12 out of 13. Given the emergency evacuation plan in my room, there are larger rooms, but I needed a twin and I believe there are no twins in upper categories. I did not enquire about the upgrade, just took what they gave me.

I did get a personalized welcome - some minor treats, a large bottle of water replenished everyday and a letter from the manager. First hotel who actually did that for me. I was almost verklempt.

I got the "premium WiFi" (which is the regular WiFi you'd expect from a hotel, anything less would have been a joke), which may be something they give everybody, did not enquire if that was because of my status.

I got a voucher for two drinks since I booked a room for two. This was a nice touch, as on some other occasions I got a voucher for one drink despite travelling with company.

- How are the rooms? Dated but comfortable. Everything you'd expect from Pullman is there, even if in weird forms (analogue safe, I felt like a 19th century bank robber retrieving my laptop). OK, not everything - I had to ask for an iron+board, and we got one bathrobe for two people, got the second one a jiffy when I notified the front desk though. Bathroom was small and quite uncomfortable with a bathtub and very basic showerhead (no rain shower )

- What was good and what was bad?

GOOD
Service, breakfast (coffee to go from a Nespresso machine and snack to tak, yay!), spa (not so spectacular as such, but great extra over the regular small fitness room), location

BAD
No WiFi in breakfast room or spa, one bathrobe for two people and ageing decor. Oh, and the bathroom with bathtub. In general, my experience was positive, they should just add the WiFi in floors 1 and 2 and I become a regular.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? No lounge

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? I got a great rate, and I will surely return, even on a less spectacular rate. Stuttgart is a great relaxing city with loads to do and see, and the Pullman is soothing.

The Perth Mercure has got to know me and always gives an upgrade, in that they don't put me in the old wing with the tatty 3-star rooms. The new wing is served by the second set of lifts further from reception and the rooms are quite nice.

But no welcome drink or gift in the room.

- What is your Le Club status? Silver

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
I booked a standard double bed room and this is what I got.

I did get a voucher for a welcome drink.

- How are the rooms? The hotel is new (opened 1st Feb 2014) and you can see it. The room was clean, OK size for a standard Ibis room. No desk really, just a little table which was too small to use for working.

- What was good and what was bad?

GOOD
Service, location.

BAD
The Wifi is really slow and not usable for work with VPN.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? No lounge

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? It was good value for money. I had a cheap rate including breakfast. The hotel is perfect for a leisure traveller who plans to do sightseeing downtown. If you need to work a bit in your room, this is less adequate due to the small desk and the bad Wifi quality.
