Ibis Senen Jakarta

- Name of the hotel:
Ibis Senen Jakarta.

- What is your Le Club status?

Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Mixed

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard Queen and got the same

- How are the rooms?

Clean and new. Typical Ibis room.

- What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- The hotel still new
- Near to Pasar Senen train station (I need that for my early departure using train)

Bad:
- No welcome drinks at all (they told me that the hotel still new so they didn't implement this. FYI, it's already one year ago and they have right to choose not to implement this. Come on??)
- I had a dinner in the hotel and paid it upon check-out but they only posted my room stay without adding the dinner bills. And the x3 points that they are currently promoting was not posted also. In the end, I have to submit missing points claim and got the points.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Yes. Only if I have early departures from Pasar Senen Station.

Mercure Lisboa

- Name of the hotel:

Mercure Lisboa

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes and no.

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room and received standard room. The general manager said they hotel was fully booked. Nonetheless, it was disappointing.

- How are the rooms?
The room was quite nice actually. There enough space and the furniture looked new. The bed was comfortable.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Nice swimming pool on top, shame I couldn't use it.
Breakfast was OK value for money.

Bad:
No upgrade.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
There is no lounge, but I got a drink voucher and a welcome gift in the room. It was a big plate of fruit and big bottle of water. Shame that the fruit was probably left there for hours, as I checked in after midnight. I didn't eat it.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Fair value. I'd probably return if I didn't need a hotel in the centre.

- Name of the hotel:
Novotel Cairo El Borg

- What is your Le Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Just fine

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard room and received standard room.

- How are the rooms?
The rooms were a little run down, otherwise just like your typical Novotel. Sound insulation is poor. Water pressure for shower poor.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Location

Bad:
See room condition
No one cares about plat status. Might bother some, I was fine with it.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
There is no lounge.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Booked a Novotel super sale rate. No complains. Dirt cheap is what I would call it.

IBIS Shinjuku, Tokyo

Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard single and received double. Drink coupon also offered. Late check-out till 2pm automatically offered.

- How are the rooms?
Small as per Tokyo standards, but well maintained.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Location
Beds

Bad:
I can potentially see room size being an issue for some, but I was satisfied with my room

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?
Not applicable

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?
Yes

*I have been clocking approx 20 to 30 nights a year at this hotel. The front desk recognises me, and so sometimes I get stuff like room upgrades for an Ibis. Initially when I first stayed with them, nothing was pro-actively offered.

Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Classic, received Superior King with Club access.

Decent food and drink. Drinks began at 5pm and food at 6pm. Some kind of sushi, beef brochettes, cheese and bread, and other num-nums.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:
They allowed me to check in at 8am without having to pay for a day room.
Club upgrade
Free drink coupon given without asking

Bad:
The free drink coupon now is only good for wine and beer.
Whomever was working the concierge desk late at night tried to tell me that private car transport to T1 would cost £35! I walked away and tried again in the morning and got a better price.

Mercure Hotel Ginza Tokyo

- Name of the hotel:

Mercure Hotel Ginza Tokyo

- What is your Le Club status?

Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked superior twin (only one that fits 3 people), got superior twin

Hotel claims superior rooms are already top graded room

- How are the rooms?

Good by Japanese standards

- What was good and what was bad?

Good:

Price: Triple rooms are hard to book in Tokyo

Location: The Ginza subway line is really good for tourism, beats the JR Ikebukuro (Yamanote line) station that I stayed at last two Tokyo visits. Also close to Higashi-Ginza station which has direct access to Haneda airport

Convinience: Awesome local udon/soba shop (just 1/2 block south of the 24hr Lawson store)

Bad:

Wifi: Horrible wifi strength in room

Status recognition: Juice box as welcome drink, didn't require neither early check-in nor late check-out

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge?

N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?

Yes

Bad: I felt the rooms could do with some upgrading, especially some of the wooden furnishings looking a little worse for wear

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? No Lounge at hotel.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? For the location and price I paid (£128 per night) I would return.

Mercure Tunbridge Wells

- Name of the hotel: Mercure Tunbridge Wells

- What is your Le Club status? Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Classic. Upgraded but not sure if to Superior or Deluxe (was classed as a studio i think) but was good. Reception didn't even mention the upgrade.

- How are the rooms? Whichever one i got was very roomy, though the bathroom needs upgrading a little bit.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Upgrade and barman.

Bad: Lack of newspapers (especially with most in Accor now providing at least a paper). Can get overly full with coach trips meaning lack of access to restaurant.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Work related so yes, is a decent hotel.

Ibis Rotherham East

- Name of the hotel: Ibis Rotherham East

- What is your Le Club status? Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? No

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? One choice of rooms only to my knowledge

- How are the rooms? Normal Ibis so fine but nothing special

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Price and location (close to motorway)

Bad: Where can i start. No recognition of gold status, poor checking in, possibly the worst hotel food i have ever encountered in my life. Other customers having issues with food and service, so sounds like they need to sort a lot out.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? To stay yes for the price (even though i'm not paying). Option of Morrisons supermarket, pub and even McDonalds for food.

Ibis Glasgow City Centre

- Name of the hotel: Ibis Glasgow City Centre

- What is your Le Club status? Gold

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? N/A

- How are the rooms? Normal Ibis style

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: Where can i start, after the previous night in Ibis Rotherham (see above) i think death by rats would have been ok. Turned up after a really long day at 10pm with a dozen people at check-in and thought the worst. Two staff checking in with two behind bar, one of the ones behind bar came to get my name, confirmed i was booked in and sorted me out as soon as a computer came free. Well impressed. Free drinks voucher made it better (seem to be offered more these days).

Bad: Nothing

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? N/A

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? Yes
