It seems to me that individual properties are not obliged to follow the discount structures of the Adv+ program especially the ones that feel they can do quite well on their F&B revenues without the patronage of the Adv+ members.

Somewhat defeats the purpose of paying for the card though (that is linked to their hotel chain)...

The lounge has been moved to Lau Pa Sat

(which will only - maybe - open in june)

What a strange idea to not have a club lounge in a brand new top tier hotel (So) and in a region where all (or almost) all hotels of this category offer this ?

I was so looking forward to staying here but those photos do not appeal to me at all. So tiny and no lounge - I thought it would compare to the So Bangkok!! Disappointed.

Since I have nothing to do in this boring city of Palembang, Indonesia... here are the rooms sizes I just googled:

So Cozy: 25sqm (3m high ceilings)
So Comfy: 25sqm (3m high ceilings)
So Club Room: 35sqm (3m high ceilings)
So Lofty: 80sqm (?m high ceilings)
So VIP: 90sqm (?m high ceilings)
So Studio Room: 45sqm (?m high ceilings)

I never really see a need for club lounges for small hotels. This of course annoy some Platinums, both earned and accidental ones because that seems to be only benefit that every Platinum will strive to hold on to. However the benefits at this Sofitel look decent enough for So Club.
