uh oh, that would be slightly uncool..
But for those having attained CdA before that change: the card doesn't have a valid-until date, so in theory you could just show this card forever. In my experience, a lot of systems/hotels have no clue how to deal with CdA anyway, so the card might be enough to convince them of plat status
Anyway, so far it's still platinum according to my account..

If existing CDA is downgraded to Gold, I think it is really time to reconsider the investment.
While I still have Amex Platinum which in theory should put me back to Accor Platinum, but as I understand, they cannot touch the Accor Advantage Plus account, and I presume, they cannot touch the CDA account as well.
So I will have to get 3 accounts?
-Accor Advantage Plus
-CDA
-Normal Account and use Amex Platinum to upgrade to Plat.
I think easiest way is to let existing CDA holders keep their Plat. If not, I cannot imagine keeping 3 Accor Accounts.

I am mostly worried whether hotels manage to get it right if there are two levels of "Club des Actionnaires". A few weeks ago a hotel only gave me my free drink voucher after I asked for it. They explained "your status says Club des Actionnaires - we did not know what benefits are associated to that level". It was then that I showed my Platinum card, generally I don't do it because I assume that their IT systems inform them about me anyway (i.e. it would be highly unlikely to get an upgrade if they don't know about it beforehand). Now if there are two levels of CdA, how are hotels supposed to know the difference?
I would be good if Accor would change the status descriptions to things like "Platinum (Club des Actionnaires)" and "Gold (Club des Actionnaires)" so that hotels know what to do. Particularly since CdA members still might obtain Platinum by staying a lot at Accor properties (i.e. in my case 140+ nights last year) so systems must be able to handle that case.

But we can still hope... Accor doesn't always choose the sensible option. Welcome to FlyerTalk, Hellek!

We can still enjoy the benefits of our platinum card until then.

Thanks for making that effort and letting us know.
The news shouldn't really come as a surprise, of course. It's been more than five years since the CdA was first mentioned here and it has been discussed in several other places online in (at least) French, English and German over the past few years.
I would have preferred an increase in the required shareholding, but the change from Platinum to Gold will probably be sufficient to deter people from buying shares just for this benefit.
