They should. I show up every time under the cleared/confirmed portion of the list when I take a buy-up offer.

I don't. Of course, I seldom get offers attractive enough to induce me to buy.

8/17 MSO to ORD (3hrs on a CR7) H to R, $99 at OLCI

You bet I took it, traveling with 2 bags @ 55lbs each, last seat in the cabin.

Well I'm on W fares and when I priced business at different times of the year, it came up in the $8k range.

There is some availability showing on the ORD-MUC segment but not on the FRA-SFO segment.

At least when I check the seat selection pages.

So I went ahead and got wait listed for upgrade with miles. Total cost would be about $1900 including miles at 1.9 cpm, so now I may not get a buy-up offer.

There is no correlation. Many reports of pax getting buy-up offers despite being waitlisted either with miles or a GPU.

Here's a new one on a USA-NRT fare circa $2700, and it is measured in the Thousand of Dollars, a new take on TODs. This was offered at the time of ticketing. One direction Business First upgrade offered for $5309, and return Business First upgrade offered at $3309. Declined! $8618 to upgrade the ticket?

LAX-DFW, yesterday for today's noon flight, F=2, next thing you know, F=1 with no movement in standby u/g list.

Hm, what are the odds that someone bough an F or Y up fare at 10 p.m. the day before the flight

My offer was $267 to buy up to F. Ya, right, for a snack box, a slightly bigger seat and free drinks on a daytime flight (have about 50, that's right, fifty drink chits).

Though FAs tend to be a little, key word LITTLE, less snarky towar pax in FC

Oh, and I was informed that SkyWest does not follow UA policy, and they do not recycle ANYTHING, it ALL goes into trash. While I don't believe UA actually recycles much of anything like they say they do, at least they are going through the motions.

Don't forget SDC. A drop in inventory doesn't necessarily mean someone bought a ticket.

IAH-SEA 9/9 morning. Upgrade for $125. E fare class, R=0 (RPU waitlisted), F=1. Anyone know the chances of waitlist clearing or CPU for this 1K? Not familiar with this route.

Exactly. We did a SDC last Friday and our new flight went from F4 to F2 all of a sudden. An unappreciated factor.

I'm a Premier Gold.
Was waitlisted using miles 20k and $550. cash, on Cdg-ord.......got an offer to buy up for $690. Took it, miles and cash returned, this was on line when I went to check-in.

Good luck and safe travels!
