Was wondering if there have been any more decisions on the Chiang Mai, Pattaya & Cardiff routes? I know they have been announced, but all have gone very quiet.

On 5 August the Bangkok Post reported an increase in the frequency of QR's flights to Krabi. In the margins of that announcement, QR reaffirmed its intention to fly to Chiang Mai, but notably did not reconfirm the previously announced start date of 31 October.

Qatar Airways today (16AUG17) opened reservation for planned Doha – Chiang Mai service, previously scheduled to launch on 16DEC16. The revised launch date is now set on 07DEC17, with Boeing 787-8 aircraft operating 4 times a week.

Edit: There is a bug. I quoted the return as QR 8 2 3 (space added..), but flyertalk replaces this with dots ...

Those QR822 arrival and departure times are terrible. From those coming from the EU, only the morning flights will be able to connect to it and then you arrive really early at Chiang Mai...

I am very interested to see how the Chiang Mai flight works out. I love the place, and I love the option of it being served directly by Qatar, I just wonder how many people are going to go there directly, versus starting in Bangkok.

Has anyone flown the Krabi route much? Curious how the loads are. That flight I can see getting lots of Europeans vacationers, as it gives the Finnair and Thomson flights some competition.

A friend I know owns a travel agency in Ghana and this is the email he received last night. Looks like the long anticipated ACC route will be starting soon!

Two days ago flights to Chiang Mai were available from all European cities that I checked. Yesterday morning options for Chiang Mai had completely disappeared from Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Oslo and Stockholm. Flights to Chiangmai are still bookable from London, Frankfurt, Rome, Venice, Madrid etc. Does anyone know why most of the Northern Europe options have gone?

Either that or one of those infamous scams with an original variation from the usual dead dictator, corrupt widow, or vulnerable young woman!

For those of you whose first language is not English - I believe orbitmic means scams, not scans.

That's what I originally thought, however I verified that the sender's email address actually does belong to the Qatar Airways Nigeria sales office.
