  • Fare feels too good to be true? Don't call the airline!!!!!!
  • Double check that the fare is actually in Business or First as some online search engines or OTA's confuse booking classes on some airlines.
  • Post as many details as possible about the First / Business fare, including fare class, fare basis, one-way / roundtrip, sales channel, sample dates & total price, including taxes.
  • Post the details within the thread itself and not in the post title field as any information typed here cannot be seen by members accessing the thread using mobile devices.
  • Refrain from posting fare requests or engaging in off topic debates such as fare trends, specific aircraft configuration or visa requirements
  • The deeply discounted international fares discussed here are almost always specific to a certain country of origin, so don't ask if it works in reverse (e.g. a SFO-LHR-SFO fare usually won't work LHR-SFO-LHR). Domestic fares more commonly work in reverse.
  • Last, but not least, Don't call the Airline!

Thanskgiving Fare

Just bought a Thanksgiving Business fare on UA:

11/29 BOS-IAH-FRA-VIE

12/02 VIE-FRA

12/03 FRA-IAH-BOS

$1985.90 ai; Total PQMs (including 50% P class bonus)--21,988

Surprised I could route through Houston from Boston to Vienna.
Taking LH A380 on return.

Careful with this if you're crediting back to UA, as P on LH no longer earns the 50% bonus on UA as of September 1.

These are the pretty standard Thanksgiving fares that have been around a while, I think, though nice to see AF matching, not all the European carriers matched these fares, that I could tell. Similar sale fares (somewhat higher) are available at Christmas with some more complicated date restrictions: the window for booking is broader than at Thanksgiving, but there's a ten day limit for the fare to apply, at least on AA, similar to the 11/24-12/4 window for the earlier sale.

Thank you for posting this fare. I booked it today for 937 euros. Would be 2400 euros from Paris. Will fly to Cairo with airmiles (booked on Swiss).

EY also has a good fare to BKK from Cairo : 920 euros.

Found what I think is a pretty interesting fare out of JFK over Thanksgiving ...

11/25 (or 11/26) JFK-LHR
11/29 DUB-JFK

$1417 AI RT on DL, booking into Z. About $850 or so is fuel. The return leg can be from other destinations:

LIS $1448
BCN $1514
MAD $1519
BSL $1537
GVA $1539
BRU $1544

Phl-pos aa/ua

PHL-POS AA/UA roundtrip has sub $800 fares from Sept thru Dec, maybe later. Just booked on united.com PHL-IAH-POS-EWR-CLE-PHL (all in P, last segment in Y) for $790. (found on ITA)

MAD-LHR-KUL-MEL Biz One way £1247

I'm in the middle of one of these (took a stopover in KUL) and it may help someone out given the extortionate fares originating in Oz. I usually do a miles redemption back to the UK and book one way Biz from Europe for my annual trip.

I can only get this to work for MEL through Kayak which then links to ebookers or expedia.

Doesn't seem to be any set dates, best to do a +/-3 day search.

Books into 'C' so full Biz miles for Enrich or other OW FF's.

Stopover in KUL permitted....approx. an extra £40 - use the multi city function on the day you find the £1.2k fare, and this should carry through.

LHR-KUL leg on A380.

Any Q's let me know.

Just checked and still seeing this on ITA. To be clear, the outbound leg to Europe has to be JFK-LHR for this fare to work. The other destinations would be open jaw return legs (so, say, JFK-LHR and then BCN-JFK is $1514).

It just avoids the very high UK APD on J flights. Can you get to BCN for the cost of the APD savings would be the question.
