  • Fare feels too good to be true? Don't call the airline!!!!!!
  • Double check that the fare is actually in Business or First as some online search engines or OTA's confuse booking classes on some airlines.
  • Post as many details as possible about the First / Business fare, including fare class, fare basis, one-way / roundtrip, sales channel, sample dates & total price, including taxes.
  • Post the details within the thread itself and not in the post title field as any information typed here cannot be seen by members accessing the thread using mobile devices.
  • Refrain from posting fare requests or engaging in off topic debates such as fare trends, specific aircraft configuration or visa requirements
  • The deeply discounted international fares discussed here are almost always specific to a certain country of origin, so don't ask if it works in reverse (e.g. a SFO-LHR-SFO fare usually won't work LHR-SFO-LHR). Domestic fares more commonly work in reverse.
  • Last, but not least, Don't call the Airline!

Fiji Air
DFW - LAX - NAN - SYD. $3,698.10 rt /ai. Books into Z so 25% bonus for redeemable AA miles.

Dec 6th - Dec 8th. Looks like a 1 hour turn which is nuts. Not even sure if it's possible to clear customs (or if you would even have to).

Looks bookable on Orbitz.

The LAX - NAN - SYD flights are on A330-200 so I think that's the new biz class seat but buyer beware.

I'm passing on this but should make for good conversation.

Same price ex BOS BOS-LAX-NAN-SYD r/t for $3.7k

Just booked this to travel on Oct 2. Books into A (domestic portion) and I (international portion). Outbound already confirmed into first class on the 773. Return waitlisted. I'm not sure what the fare rules are.....I am staying over a Saturday night. I just stumbled onto this fare.
Fare basis code INE0MAQ1. Same fare from many east coast airports as well (PIT, PHL, CLT, DCA, IAD). Book before Sep 22 (tomorrow!), travel must start before Dec 15. No min/max stay.

DL: SFO>LAX>ATL>EZE>ATL>MSP>SFO $2627ai; 22,410 MQM/EQM; 11.6cpm

Fare basis ZNN14FNQ. Books into Z/P.

The PHX<>GRU deals were sadly not available on DL. But I took inspiration from it and stumbled upon this nice deal SFO<>EZE @ ~$2600ai.

7 night minimum stay required; was a little difficult to put together, because availablility varied on different routes day-by-day and week-by-week. My travel dates are late Mar. - early Apr. but there seemed to be a lot of other dates available. No date restrictions are mentioned in the fare rules as far as I can tell.

SFO>SLC>LAX>ATL>EZE was possible on the outbound, but I didn't like the timing. Also, theoretically possible to travel EZE>ATL>DTW/JFK>SFO on the return. I also theoretically saw EZE>ATL>JFK>MSP>SFO, though that doesn't add a lot of additional miles because MSP is essentially an overflight.

I advise to build your itin in Matrix first, then put together flight by flight using the Search by Schedule and Multi-Stop at Delta.com.

Do not use Search by Price at delta.com. I did this at first but began getting the notorious "The price has changed..." error when trying to purchase.

not bad. No YQ on this fare. Same fare from LAX and other cities. UA has the same fare, but very limited routing options.

I couldn't find it from LAX when I searched in Matrix for some reason.

FWIW, SFO/LAX > ATL/JFK > GRU was coming up at $2909 RT. Not quite as good, but not terrible either.

Actually, no YQ is pretty common on fares to South America. Look at any of AA's fares from USA to South America and they are almost all (if not completely all) sans YQ. It's not a trick, it's how the fares are loaded @:-).

It isnt there because it is illegal in some SA countries to add YQs or other additional charges to a ticket.

It is illegal ex-Brazil among others, but you can have YQ on tickets to Brazil that are sold elsewhere. Some of the European carriers have YQ on their fares ex-Europe to Brazil as an example. However, many of the US carriers don't have it for whatever reason.

Also to the original post, is the DL fare an unlimited connection MPM fare? Could get interesting due to the late departure times of flights down to South America if you really want to beat up the 500-mile minimum rule...

I don't see a reference to MPM in the fare rules on EF. I could be looking in the wrong place or don't understand the rules well enough to figure it out though.

The first itin I attempted had the same routing and DL.com gave me the same price until I tried to book and it changed the fare to $3800. I called and an agent quoted me the higher fare as well. DL.com is notorious for this sort of tease.

I initially assumed that it must be due to an MPM rule, but it's not the case because I eventually found the lower pricing on the same routing, except this time with a 35 minute cxn in MSP as opposed to a safe 2 hour cxn with the higher priced routing. Fare classes were the same so I have no idea why they priced differently.

The routing rules from EF are listed below. I don't know exactly how to interpret them. But it does look like a transfer in SCL is possible. I have an overnight in LAX scheduled.

1. SFO-DL/AS-LAX-SLC-NYC/DEN/CVG/CHI-DTT-ATL-SCL-DL/AR/AF/AC-
BUE
2. SFO-SLC-LAX-CVG-NYC-DTT-ATL-SCL-DL/AR/AF/AC-BUE
3. SFO-DL/AS-LAX-SLC-NYC/DEN/CVG/CHI-DTT-ATL-SCL-KL/BA/AR-BUE
4. SFO-SLC-LAX-CVG-NYC-DTT-ATL-SCL-KL/BA/AR-BUE
5. SFO-DL/AS-LAX-SLC-NYC/DEN/CVG/CHI-DTT-ATL-BUE
6. SFO-SLC-LAX-CVG-NYC-DTT-ATL-BUE
7. SFO-DL/AS-LAX-SLC-NYC/DEN/CVG/CHI-DTT-ATL-DL-BUE
