CX PE Menus 2013
Cathay Pacific Premium Economy Class Menu Thread for the year of 2013
Inspired from CGK's highly organized and successful SQ F/J/Y menu thread, I think we should start one for the CX Forum. I will volunteer to organize the title thread and put all the information in some kinds of formats. Since lots of folks always ask what CX is serving on a particular route, why don't we start something similar to CGK in SQ forum? I know some of you don't care about it, but for those who care about it, hopefully it will be a helpful guide to present and future CX flyers.
If you don't want to type out the menu, feel free to scan it and post a link here, or you can email it to [email protected], and I will type it out.
Thanks,
Carfield

Isn't it the same as J/Y
On 3 PE flights I've been on, it always seems to me that the PE main meal is the same as the J class meal and the small meal is the Y class meal, is this not the case and they actually load a seperate meal for PE?

In other words, if it is a long haul flight departing in the morning, say CX139 to sydney, pax will have an EY main course on an EY meal tray for the first service and a JCL main course on an EY meal tray for the second service. does it make sense to you?

Supper
Smoked salmon with marinated quinoa salad
Pan-seared Canadian AA beef tenderloin with porcini mushroom red wine demi glace, roasted finerling potatoes, grilled pepers and broccolini
or
Steamed chicken with Chinese sausage and mushrooms, steamed jasmine rice and stir-fried vegetables
or
Sun-dried tomato and oregano medaliogni with pesto cream sauce and sauteed peppers
Haagen Dazs Ice Cream
Tea and Coffee
Breakfast
Seasonal fresh fruit
Beef with fried rice noodle congee
or
Ham frittata with salsa, roasted red skin potatoes, streaky bacon and creamed spinach
Croissant with fruit preserve and butter
Tea and Coffee
Snacks
Cup noodles and assorted snacks are available throughout the flight
I had the beef and congee and they were both very good. However the mid-flight snacks are very limited in supply and are shared with regular economy. Only 100 cup noodles are loaded for each flight or a rough ratio of 1 per 3 passengers. I think CX is ridiculously cheap in this regard given that this is a 15-hours flight and there are 10-hours in between the first and last meals.
Also beware that there is no dedicated lavatory for Premium Economy. PE passengers use the regular economy lavatories.
