NOTE: The previously designated smoking room in the Terminal D Admirals Club has been closed and refurbished as the interim Flagship Dining facility, 3 Nov 2015 specifically for dining (soft opening was 27 Oct). Wine, Champagne and beer are served; for other beverages, the Admirals Club bar will be used (chits are issued). (The Admirals Club itself will continue to serve as the lounge until the new premium lounge opens.)

Background: The DFW international terminal was previously Terminal A. The A Admirals Club offered both an Arrivals Lounge and a Flagship Lounge. These were closed after 11 September 2001; when the decision to make terminal D the c new in terminal, AA chose to build an expanded Admirals Club and omit both Flagship and Arrivals lounges. There is an AMEX Centurion lounge, and there are The Lounge at DFW and several contract lounges serving several airlines' passengers.
At DFW-A, the old Flagship Lounge still exists and is used for an occasional function or NR passenger; the old Arrivals Lounge is still there, and though no longer in service it's showers -arguably the most spacious and luxurious in the AA system - and small gym remain for knowing passenger's or member's use. Look for these facilities on your immediate left (FL) and right (AL) as you exit the elevators on the second (Club) floor.

Just an interesting note, it seems the international segment does not have to be same day despite what's posted in this thread. I had an overnight layover after my international segment and was granted admission the next morning on my connecting domestic segment.
I did not ask (nor expect) this. When I presented the domestic BP, the front desk agent proactively granted admission and stamped that BP.
In reading the wording for admission, I don't see anything that requires a same day international segment.

Just more confirmation that the rule is international itinerary, I was granted access in a non-gateway city: DFW before DFW-LAX-SYD. The desk agent said entry is granted as long as there is any international component to my travel.

If only there could be some sort of official clarification on the rules.... Would be really helpful to me if access is granted the day after an international flight (same ticket, next day domestic flight)

The only things worth going to the AC/Flagship dining for are: 1. my water using the chit (since AA is stingy on water on the flight) 2: the champagne is better than the prosecco they serve in Centurion.

Have you been to the new Flagship Dining Room at JFK? The experience is much more than San Pellegrino water and Prosecco.

I just go in and out to get my champagne refilled. Haven't come across any memorable or positive-comment-worth food offerings yet, and the space is depressing. Don't really know why you'd want to hang out in there.

And keep in mind Flagship Dining at DFW is available (for now) to AA Exc PLT and Emerald, but once they open the new one the access rules will more restrict like the one at JFK.
