I'm flying out of RDU on Thursday and the current seat config is 3 rows of F. Hopefully the rear config is the new seats. Initially my flight down today was 3 rows of F but then was switched to 4 on a 738. Although getting 4 rows of F on Thursday would be nice as well if I got the upgrade.

There should be a bounty put out for first review and photos
It appears I won't be flying an 800 the rest of the year so I guess that is good (upgrades) and bad (tight economy seats if not in 6/16/17).

Have they widespread changed this on all 800's yet? They may be doing that for safety sake, holding back sales on those seats, and then just upgrade people into them. Should be better upgrade chances on the old config for awhile if they are holding back seats for sale.

Curious how they will release U spaces on 738 during transition. I know, it all depends on the market, but wondered if they would release more U when 16F aircraft is assigned to the flight, or whether the seats will all be gate upgrade, and no Gold Guest upgrade.

They need to start selling the buy-ups sooner! It would be interesting to see if they at least try and do at-gate buy-up offers into those seats, even if only middles left at that time...
I have been impressed that the gates have been aware of aircraft configured with space bins and have been making announcements to folks at the gate to flip bags on their side and to not worry about space....

There are some services which show the log of the events related to leading up to the flight and you can see those equipment swaps that you normally don't see because almost all are the same type. All it takes is a little delay somewhere to change things around. With Alaska's hub-out-and-back scheduling, swaps at the hub are common if a flight is late returning.

Argh.. my hopes were SOO high. I'm flying IAD-SEA today and the seat map changed to 3 rows of F. Assumed it was a newly reconfigured -800 since AS.com still shows it as a -800 (flightview says its a -900).
but alas, no, last row is 28.
and this is one time I am thanking god that I am in Row 2 and not 4.
