It is an option now, as long as you convert to AS.

Anyone without an AS account receive the email with their new new Mileage Plan number yet? As of 1:55pm PT, I have not.

My wife was able to successfully convert her VX points to AS (she already had an AS account).

Not yet. I believe Missy said (in another thread) that we would receive the email by the end of the week, and that not everyone would receive the email at the same time.

I have a linked account but haven't received an email - what is the process (or URL) for transferring Elevate points to Mileageplan?

Any reason why anyone would want to do that right away?

Not really. VX points are more valuable remaining in the VX program because of the option (but not the obligation) to transfer to AS. Just like stock options, this option has time value (until AS shuts down the VX program). You only exercise the option when you really need to.

I have an international award ticket I want to book w/ AS points. Would prefer to book it sooner rather than later so availability doesn't disappear in the meantime.

I had an existing AS mileage plan account and just logged in today. Looks like I was matched VX Gold > MVP Gold. However, no email yet.

I don't think so, but even if you could, why would you want to? AS is distance based and VX is revenue based. It'd be horrible value.

You can convert the points to your own MP account, and then transfer to a family member's account for a fee.
