New business class seats to Asia

Can somebody either tell me or point me to the link. I want to find out which transpacific flights (from LAX or SFO) to SE asia or china have the new seats.

Thanks

Generally, if your flight is on a 747 you'll probably have the new seats. There are just 2 747's left that do not have the new seats... check the seat maps on the specific flights just to be sure before buying.

If the plane is a 777 you will not have the new seats as UA will not begin reconfiguring those until next year.

Ideally I'm looking for an award seat on Thai which is not available right now, but if I have to choose, and it's the old configuration, should I go Asiana or United? (I'm sure NH is better but also difficult to book). I'm using dividend miles

if you're going to mainland china or tokyo, you might want to hurry... They're downgauging to 777's very soon.

SFO-NRT will stay a 747 after the changes occur in Oct.

Link for details on that? I'm booked ORD-NRT on 9/20 and seat map shows new config 747.

sorry, i was mainly talking about SFO/LAX since I fly out of CA.

I am quite annoyed with the SFO-PVG downgauge though. I've been doing that route 3x/yr for the past 4 years, and when they finally switch to the new config, they take it away 3 months later.

Cool SO Annoyed

My stupid flight SFO-ICN is on a rotten 777. I actually got to use miles to upgrade for that leg, and I am so disappointed in not getting the new seats. Oh well....guess it beats economy plus. (But still!)

It doesn't look like United has any other flights to FCO except for the one at 6:09pm from IAD.
I am almost positive that the IAD-FCO routes are exclusively 763's - so, yes, you would have an updated plane. There may be a chance that during the summer months this route gets an "upgrade" to a 777, but I'm unaware if a seasonal plan exists.

Yes. That route has been new config for quite some time. The first row of economy on a 747 with the old config is row 32.

869/862 SFO -- HKG and 837/838 SFO -- NRT are consistently new config. So is 891/890 LAX -- NRT for the few remaining days it's operated with a 744. After 9/2, the NRT -- BKK tag will be numbered 881/882, the aircraft will generally come from ORD, and will continue to be consistently new config.

The HKG -- SIN tag to 895/896 is similarly new config out of ORD; the actual aircraft often swap between 895/896 and 869/862 at HKG.

857 SFO -- PVG is sometimes new, sometimes old. The remaining old configs are generally used either on the 857/858 rotation, or 835/836 between ORD and PVG.
