Generally available on all flights (including widebodies) over 900 miles except Premium Transcon (EWR<>SFO/LAX)
Pre-order has priority on the flight even about GS/1K and while originally pre-order was limited to a portion of each inflight choice, recent reports pre-order can consume the entire flight's allocation of a particular offering.

I am traveling Sunday LAX-EWR-TLV in Polaris. Never received any email from United allowing me to pre-order meals. Have checked the reservation link daily within the 5 day window to see if a link for meal ordering appeared but no luck. Traveling half way around the world including a Polaris segment and thus expected to have this benefit. Any one else having a similar issue?

Good new -- none of the items for a future flight are "Out of Stock"!
Bad news -- the maximum order quantity is ZERO
How many ways to say no.

Come Monday AM, sitting in our seats in the front cabin, Purser says: "Because we are departing from a non-hub, no pre-orders were loaded and we have only the egg white bites and the waffles."
So much for this vaunted machine that is United Airlines.

When I go to the UA meal preorder page directly via the URL it redirects to a page saying that pre ordering for flight is closed - not logged in, no PNR info given. Wondering if there's something going on there? (I haven't gotten an email offering a pre order for a domestic flight I assumed I might or should, but after later googling see it's out of SFO so prob not eligible? Anyway that the page redirects without any info entered suggests maybe something else is going on.
any ideas?

And does a preorder override a meal preference in your itinerary/profile (in my case AVML)?

Out of curiosity I pre-ordered Y snacks on two flights. They were not acknowledged on either flight, and I ultimately purchased nothing. Unsure why this is an option if it is ultimately meaningless, although I chatted with a FA who said they do see pre-ordered snacks on a regular basis and are supposed to acknowledge them.
