I booked an itinerary including a LH flight through United.com, and recently saw a cash upgrade offer to PE on the LH segment on Lufthansa.com
Once I went ahead with the upgrade, the UA website is now giving me a warning
I called the 1K line, and the agent told me that she couldn't get the ticket back in sync because the upgrade was processed by Lufthansa, and that I'd have to check in at the airport (not online).
1) Can this really not be fixed before departure?
2) I have a UA segment before the LH flight -- If I can't OLCI, can I still select seats for that flight at T-24, or will I have to wait until I get to the airport?
TIA!

Hello.
I booked an ANA flight through priceline.com
Houston->Tokyo->Sydney - spend a week in Sydney
Sydney -> Tokyo - spend a week in Tokyo
Tokyo -> Houston
The fare class is K.
I am more worried about PQM then PQD. Will I earn PQM? will I earn PQD? I cant quite figure out all the rules.
I have entered my united plus member info on ANA's website.

However as an *A carrier, the flight can earn UA MP PQMs per ANA/NH earning on UA MP
K fare should earn 100% PQM on ANA/NH
K fare should earn 100% PQM on ANA/NH

Although I did end up SDCing in the process, so I'll head to the airport with extra time for any ticketing issues.

What kind of domestic "First" seat is on this flight?:
UA424 on 5/15
IAD-SFO
787-8
Looks like it's this one. Im debating whether to upgrade. Would these be lie flat business, but the older style?

If I upgrade, would I then have to pay more to choose a specific seat?

No, you don't have to pay any fee to choose your seat.

Where to credit tool
Rookie question about the where to credit tool - does it incorrectly display UA P class earnings on UA? From what I can understand on UA's website, P cost should credit at 150% (no?)
Eg from the tool - YVR-DEN-UA-P/DEN-IAH-UA-P/IAH-LIM-UA-P earns miles on...
United Airlines (UA) 0 miles Air New Zealand (NZ) 0 miles
For that matter, is NZ crediting incorrect too?
Thanks!

A possibly stupid question, but...
I was trying to book a flight on united.com using awards miles. During the process, three different awards classifications appeared on the screen next the flight options:
A. Economy (lowest award)
B. First Saver Award
C. First Everyday Award
For all of the possible flights (and there were dozens), mileage amounts for both A and C were presented (with A being roughly 1/4 the miles needed for booking compared to C), but B was "unavailable" for all of the flights.
My question--is there any substantive difference (other than the miles required for booking) for the passenger between A and C? For instance, are the same seats available for both classifications? Are than any differences in carry-on baggage privileges between the two classifications? (Etc.) In other words, is there any reason NOT to book a ticket using "Economy Awards" miles?
I checked everywhere on United website and found absolutely no reference explaining what Economy Awards means? (First Saver and First Everyday were described.)
Thanks for any assistance.

Economy and First are classes of service. If you book the Economy award, you get a seat in economy class. If you book the First Saver (difficult to find, as you're seeing) or First Everyday award, you get a seat in first class.
You will be able to carry one full-size bag and one personal item in either case. First class also includes a free checked luggage allowance; economy does not.

Welcome to FT!, KML29
UA offers two kinds of Awards
-- Saver, with the lowest mileage requirement but limited inventory
-- Everyday -- higher mileage requirement but greater inventory availability
and
UA has three cabins
-- Economy
-- PremiumPlus (new and only available on some routes - none domestic) -- improved seat over economy
-- First (domestic) / Business (long haul international & special domestic routes) -- Best seats on the aircraft, improved food, larger baggage allow
When looking at awards -- the Economy column is the best available mileage (save or everyday) available for the economy cabin
The First Saver column reports if a Saver award is available for the Domestic First cabin
The First Everyday column reports if an Everyday award is available for the Domestic First cabin
The seats /cabin/benefits for First Saver / First Everyday are identical
Economy is significantly different from First -- so yes there is a reason for the mileage different and there are reasons for choosing one or the other.
For domestic routes economy has no baggage allowance or food
The carry on allowance is the same for any seat on the place when booking awards.

It's confusing maybe because "Economy" refers to a class of service (coach / main cabin) whereas "Saver" refers to ticket price (it's cheaper than the "everyday" standard price). In a normal non-airline conversation "economy" and "saver" might be seen as synonyms.
It's further confusing because Economy saver and Economy everyday are reported in one column while they split out the two First price points into separate columns.

BE questions
My year will wrap with 2 basic economy int'l fares on AC & TAP. The fine print on the AC tix. says no AP miles but MP is another story! Its an L class fare which appears to accumulate PQM/PQS. Is this correct?
The TAP tix. is another story. Its O class, which appears to accumulate 0 MP miles:
https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...-portugal.html
Also, the fine print on both reservations says no advance seat selection and no checked bag. Is this correct? i.e. why doesn't my G * status override?
