To find your PQDs if >than $12K
Go to
MileagePlus activity since my last statement and it is in the "Account summary" table at the top of the page.

Note this is not just the UA operated PQDs (which is commonly believed to be what matters for GS) but rather your total PQDs.

Definitions

BIS is actual scheduled flight distance (Great Circle Mileage Distance -- GCM) between airports with 500 mile minimum for elites. This is the standard used for Lifetime miles also. Those flying mostly sub-500 segments sometimes prefer to not use the minimum rule.

The definition for CPM is a bit vaguer, especially since CPM is used in multiple different situations.

Believe for the purpose of this thread, GS qualification, folks are using

PQD CPM = UA PQDs / UA BIS

Note there is no direct evidence UA uses this CPM number for GS Qualification but it is a number FTers like to use.

As for BIS, UA does not report this number your account and it needs to be manually tracked.

One way is to make use that PQMs are based on BIS but there may be a multiplier / bonus for high end fares. If always in 2x PQMs, you could divide by 2 to get BIS.

rwsteelers had a good method for determining UA BIS -- the change in Lifetime Miles from the first of the year.

Similar spreadsheets were created in years past, so I'm hoping to continue this tradition. Please take the time to enter your stats into the spreadsheet. Many thanks

Speculative based on prior year for first round requals ... though it’s usually a weekday when the site is updated, so it could be earlier or later than Dec 8.

Last year it was Dec 6, which was the first Wednesday in December. If that holds this year it would be Dec 5.

Unlikely without corporate muscle... but stranger things have happened. I wouldn't count on it.

Very worried this year. I will finish with approximately:

$35k
155 PQM
75 PQS

I am seriously considering a quick over and back to PVG in late December for 3 days. Arggh!

I’m at around $47k PQD with another $6k booked for December. Hoping I still get reinvited in Dec without having to sweat it out until January even though I won’t break $50 until mid-Dec. Been GS for 2 years.

Do I have even a slim chance of qualifying for GS?

I'm 1K and a 2 Million Miler. My spend is well below the $50k mark, which I am sure is the only thing holding me back. Since I am SNA based, I wonder how much leeway they give on PQD.

I expect to finish 2018 with:
  • $32 PQD
  • 205k PQM (all United metal)
  • 180 PQS (SNA based)

Last year, the lowest reported GS qualifications were around $40k. There were a few around $30k the year before, typically from outposts like EWR IIRC. I wouldn't count on it.

What do you all think of 38k PQD for prequalifying (37k on United metal0? I have had last 4 years spending over $50k per year, mostly non refundable biz class Z and D, A, some refundable F and J. In flying with me, my wife has reached 1k. 2MM as well. For most of my clients I can't justify refundable fares, but this year it seems like the non-refundable fares were much lower and seemed harder to climb in the dollars. Not as much middle ground with higher non-refundable fares but then a huge jump to refundable fares. Earn it mostly the hard way, 75% domestic flights - brutal!

I think it's a solid possibility, unless you are based in SFO or other hub with a high concentration of big-spenders.
