Recent changes to United's policy on pajamas and slippers increased the official availability from flights '12+ hours' to flights '14+ hours'.
There are currently (October/November 2023) mixed reports about actual availability, with some shorter than 14-hour flights still being provisioned with pajamas and slippers.
The printed on-board menu reads:
"Sleep soundly in the sky
Slippers are available by request on all international flights, along with pajamas for flights scheduled 14+ hours.
Ask your flight attendant if you'd like them."
Previous Wiki updated February 22, 2023, left here until final eligible routes can be established:
"On flights longer than 12 hours, we also offer 100% cotton pajamas upon request." (https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...laris-FAQ.aspx )
Pajamas are provisioned for about half of the eligible seats.
Flights with pajama service (for both directions)
SFO - ICN, PEK, PVG, TPE , AKL , HKG , CTU, SYD, TLV, SIN
EWR - TLV, NRT, PEK , DEL, BOM, HKG, PVG, CPT, JNB
ORD - NRT, PEK, PVG, HKG
LAX - PVG, SYD, MEL
IAD - NRT, PEK
IAH - NRT, SYD

New flights have been added, and some flights ended)
Note: United employee shop sells pajamas for $9.99 a pair as of 12/10/20

- December: old PJs, fit like garbage bags like they did previously as well
- April: noticed the PJs started fitting better.
- July: Got the new PJs. Fit similarly with April. I'm not sure how the S/M is a small. For women this would still be really big and they're rather loose for me as someone who wears medium sized stuff in general. They're not as long so my pants won't drag on the ground like they did before.

I much prefer the new Pajamas. Softer and more comfortable than the old ones.
The new ones are quite similar to the ones you get on Qantas. That was my previous favourite.

No pockets is a significant downgrade.
Also, I thought the old ones looked nicer with the lining
The large logo makes them look more like "economy PJs"
I haven't actually flown a long enough polaris flight yet this year so I guess I'll see for my self eventually.

I just had the new PJs on EWR-HKG. A 16 hour flight so definitely welcomed the change of clothes to be more comfortable and also try to get some zzz's.
I like the new PJs. I don't miss the pocket at all but honestly hadn't noticed it. The logo on the t-shirt is fine. And honestly, I think UA does it because they want people to see their brand if the passenger is too lazy to change out of their PJs before entering the airport. Yes, I've seen this in the past.
I was a S/M in the previous version and still a S/M in the latest even though the drawstring waistband is gone.

The one thing that my wife likes about the new ones is the lighter color. We use the tops as sweatshirts and she thought that dark grey was not good for spring. She was wishing for blue but this color will do. Now, we have 35 pairs of the old ones and 2 pairs of the new ones.

(Does this resemble any of you? )
With this new design, UA will get some much more visible branding on him!

The lack of pocket is also a mistake.

Received the new ones on EWR-TLV. Small size fit very well (I generally tend to size Medium for First Class PJs on the likes of CX, SQ, EK, etc.). Found them to be incredibly comfortable and took them off the plane with me. Would prefer a pocket in the pants obviously but other airlines are equally bad about this too (i.e. BA's refreshed PJs in F on TLV-LHR a few days later also had no pocket and were less soft, I left on the plane unlike my UA ones). Bloggers noting this is a cost cut are overhyping a positive change.

Lack of pockets and printed logo are downgrades with the new ones.
The biggest issue for me is actually getting the pajamas. I like to change into them before takeoff and am usually one of the first to board, meaning that we could be 45+ minutes from departure when I ask the FAs for a pair. No matter how deferential and obsequious I am when I ask, they always communicate verbally or non-verbally how busy and annoyed by the request they are, and that they may or may not get to it before takeoff.

At breakfast serving time (after 10+ hours of flight) she remembered and apologized and said she could bring them now and I could take them home.

I like the collar and buttons of the old pajamas. I was able to use the button with the napkin.
The new pajamas are just long-sleeve T-shirts, although still quite comfortable.

My best polaris experiences entailed eating the curry chicken udon in PJs with a napkin buttoned to my torso.
