Well, this is just crap.

Trying to use the new site to look for flights. Hate that you only see one-way fares displayed. Useless to me. And is there really no way to "un-do" the selection of the first leg to go back and look at the other options again?

Only way I could figure out was to start the search over again. :td:

This is a major bug and a problem.

Sortof. You can search for mixed cabin results by just not specifying the fare buckets; the results will show both coach and business fares in the columns and you can mix-and-match your selections. The challenge comes when trying to combine that with GPU-eligible fares. You're screwed there.

Yeah, and the last part is what I am struggling with. Want to use a GPU on one half of the ticket and pay for C on the second half. On the old website it was a no-brainer, select economy for the first segment, business for the second. Put in W,V,U,E,P for the fare classes and search. Worked like a charm.

Can't believe they finally cut off the old website and we are forced to use the crappy new one. Hate it.

Agree. I was using the old site this morning with one PC, now none of the tricks work to get to it.

Totally agree. Despite all the talk about customer-friendly change, the pre-Oscar mentality seems to still be firmly imbedded in some quarters.

Dreadful, just dreadful.

There's too much wrong with this new site to list, but really, is it that hard to fix the award calendar to show nonstop saver award dates only when you click nonstop?

CO.com has been able to do that for over a decade, we're moving backwards here...

Can we start a petition here for the old site and let UA Insider know?

This development is horrendous.

I noticed it this morning. So sad...

Some pages are still in the old look-and-feel but not the flight search page any more.

I'm trying to find an award flight and can't decide it it is purposefully more difficult or if it is just an accident of poor design. Really having a hard time, the simple grids are gone, hard to decide if it is on UA or a partner... the old grid was so much easier to read and much more concise use of screen real estate.

JetAway Oct 26, 2015 4:00 pm

Given how large bureaucracies operate there's likely no chance UA will reverse itself on this awful product and will, instead, tinker with it over the next couple of years trying to make it less cumbersome.

Who is the executive ultimately responsible for this abomination? The old site was great. The best part of what you got from Continental. It wasn't broken, who's the idiot at United who's decision it was to fix it?

Indeed, whoever is responsible for approving new website should be terminated immediately for gross incompetence, along with the fools who designed it.

Why does UA always want to fix what isn't broken rather than fixing what is not working?

Is the old ual.com officially gone now?

Cant even load it in incognito mode.. Officially gone?

asphaltman Oct 26, 2015 7:52 pm

Does anyone suspect the one way pricing is marketing / fare management related? It's a major flaw of the new site, and makes shopping for flights a real pia.
