As of Dec 4, 2014, up to 2 Jan 31 2015 expiring GPUs can be extended to April 30, 2015
- Call or email 1K/GS agents to request
- Must have re-qualified for 2015 as 1K (or GS)
- No extension for RPUs

In past this must be done prior to expiration, would assume the same this time also.

In this thread there are multiple request denials.

Will requalify for 1K after the GLA-EWR flight today, & will request the extension to my GPU. We'll see if I will get it done like everyone's else?

I don't see why it is a problem for them to extend for the whole year if re qualified for 1k. They just increased w fare class for Ewr-Gru by 200. I suspect they've increased it for other routes also. Now you have to ante up more just to see you win the seat, its a win win for the house. Hence there's no reason for them to extend the RPU's.

Called and requested my remaining two be extended until March. Sat on hold for 10 minutes and came back was told they were extended until April. Home agent (unless barking dogs in the background are now at the call centers) who I imagine had me on hold while getting approval from a supervisor.

My extensions showed up in a slightly odd way. Called on Monday and was told that my 2 GPUs could be extended to 3-30-15. The homepage GPU rollover then showed 2 expiring on 3-30-15 and 6 on 1-31-16, as I would expect. I then used one for a February flight. Now when I move my curser over the GPU line on my homepage it shows 7 GPUs expiring 1-31-16. Somehow the expiration of the remaining 2014 GPU has been magically extended.

I have a different display issue. After the extension was requested and processed on Dec 9, I have X number of 1/2015 GPUs, 2 4/2015 GPUs, and Y number of 1/2016 GPUs. However, on the website, it only shows the X 1/2015 GPUs and Y 1/2016 GPUs. I have called multiple times and was reassured by the agents that on their side they do indeed see X+2+Y GPUs. On my latest call this week, the regular 1K agent could not see the 2 4/2015 GPUs on her systems. She talked to a mileageplus agent who could see the 2 4/2015 GPUs and gave me the 2 GPU certificate #s (13 digits, start with 016).

Just had 2 extended to 4/30/15. I have flights to Asia in February that I can waitlist them on.

Ditto. Agent had me on hold and went to the MP center to get mine extended.

Took about 6 or7 minutes, but done and now appear in my account with 4/30/15 expiration.

Just got my 1 GPU from 2014 extended to 4/2015 ^

The agent said that there is no date to get this extension done on her system, but it would appear that 1/31/2015 would be the last day? Anyone can confirm?

In the past, once the GPU expired it could not be extended.

Which would seem to support the hypothesis that 1/31/2015 would be the last day to ask for your 2014 GPU to be extended, right?

Random question - If I passed the 100K EQM mark in November 2015 and was a 1K in 2014, should I have received 6 GPUs and an additional 2 RPUs? Even though I'll drop to Plat for 2015, shouldn't I have still received the upgrade instruments? I reached out to MPSC and they sent me back the stupidest and most generic reply basically copying and pasting how to use RPU/GPUs.

(p.s. mods please move if wrong thread.)

I don't understand your question...did you mean "passed the 100K mark in November 2014"? Did you have over 100K PQM but between $7,500-$10K in PQD?

If that's your case...you'd only get your 2 Plat RPUs unfortunately.

I'm assuming you passed 100k PQMs and not $10k PQDs? If so, no - you won't get any GPUs.
