Always a matter of opinion, but I value my time, any my sanity, too highly to be prepared to fly connections weekly for 9 months. And I wouldn't hold my breath for UA to add significantly to LAX.

No way. UA would only be #2 on that route and they don't like to challenge the market leaders, esp. when OAL has it hub/hublet.

I believe UA tried this route nonstop around 10 years ago. It did not work.

Currently for nonstop you have WN (flying as ValuJet - I mean Airtran) or DL.

To the OP how many flts are you going to take on this route? Weekly, monthly, twice a week? If flying Y - take the DL nonstop's in EC. If flying F - it is DL.

It'll be weekly Sun - Thurs. I always assumed UA was the leader at LAX given that they have two terminals so I chose UA when I started flying for work three years ago.

Looks like I may have to jump ship and stick with DL. Thanks for the input.

UA couldn't even aspire to #2. The summer schedule shows Southwest with 4x 738 six days a week, and 3x on Saturday.

So every week for several months. Take the nonstop DL flt's. On this route it is a win-win, the service on DL is hands down better on DL than UA, and with UA you need to connect. Miles on DL suck, but on this route go with DL and with that many flt's you will gain status.

Again, pay for the EC seats. It's better than flying to DEN than connecting. Happy travels.

2 & 1/3 terminals now (w/ former CO gates in T6), but fewer than 25 gates in all. To add routes, UA'd have to sacrifice others.

If I was based in ATL, I'd be on Delta.

Yes, it was suggested, but I will also reiterate that EWR/IAD-ICN will be nice (and good O/D AND connection to boot).

If UA wants a monopoly route, then DEN-ICN.

My real wish? BUR-IAH/ORD/IAD/EWR!

The more I use LAX, I hate LAX more and more (too many things to list, starting with traffic).

Thumbs up BOI-IAH and Back!

BOI is the Birthplace of UA. Please a BOI-IAH Nonstop! And return. Even once a day would be great!

I bet the flight would be a huge sell for UA.

DEN-BDL...

DEN-HVN would be even better, but hey, I'm realistic .

Yeah, I guess there's a difference between living/working in LA / flying out of LAX vs just changing planes at LAX. Where you hate it, I love it.

Yeah, once inside, LAX is fine. But for O/D pax, LAX could do better in many areas.
