How unprofessional! I make a comment to a gate agent the other day who said now boarding Continental flight from IAH to PNS. I thought it was rude. I always asked if I should be boarding because I paid to fly United. I guess Continental does exist in policies which are horrible. I would write up any employee with this attitude. CO employees seem to have an arrogance which shows in their awful service.

It may not be 100% professional or "on message," but...
this seems like a really petty thing to complain about. The integration has not been easy for anyone, and I do not begrudge United/Continental employees a chance to let off steam in a harmless and humorous manner. It might even be good for morale. If seeing an ex-con bracelet on a flight attendant is the worst thing that happened on your flight, you must have had a wonderful trip. Save the bellyaching for real problems, like long hold times, reservations that don't ticket, lost legs and seat assignments, and irrops chaos.

It's fine for the employees of a company to "let off steam". I'm sure we all do it.
But when it's done on the job, in front of customers, I think it's unprofessional. To me, it comes across as whiny and small-minded. I'm a life-long CO flyer, but I'm sort of embarrased for CO when I hear a pilot announce that the passengers are being served by a Continental crew.

While I agree with the spirit of your post, I actually don't think it's good for morale.

things like this tell me management hasn't done a good job of developing a "one team" spirit.

While JS talks and talks, he has done nothing to gain support of his co-workers. Try creating a vision that your team can get behind! Allowing things like this to fester will only cause continued division.

What makes me more angry is that in my last 6-7 calls to the elite line in which I got an Ex-Con person, they never mentioned UNITED AIRLINES. Not cool.

As a former PMCO frequent flyer, I like seeing the former Continental employees taking pride in their previous airline.
As for complaining, the only complaints I have seen in person have been from United ticket/gate agents and flight attendants. "Oh, that's a Continental thing. We don't know how to do that." and "I don't know how to do that, but you should go online and check for yourself." have been common refrains from United people post-merger.

With that said, I'm one who manifests a lot of pride in my employer.
If I were in this position I would likely show my PM CO or UA pride, but would also conduct my duties as an ambasador of the new organization.
Nothing wrong in being proud of your heritage as long as it doesn't affect your job.

Personally, I don't care what they wear as long as I get friendly, prompt, and professional service!
There are certainly bigger problems, as of late, than copping an attitude about where their loyalty should be. Some of these people are evidently unhappy about having to join forces with another carrier and if they can't get over it maybe they should go back to school to learn another trade!
I'm not happy about this merger, but I'm also not going to let it bother me, either!!!
Having said all that, a uniform is exactly what is means, everyone should be dresses "UNIFORMLY" and intentionally changing the dress code is something that an employer should strictly enforce, and a personal statement should not, even if it's intended to show past pride, be tolerated. This lack of enforcement of these rules starts at the top.
But again, I personally don't care is they come to work in a diaper which would definitely be more fitting!!!

I'm all for the concept of one big happy family, but I'm not sure how you gain the support of co-workers when they are represented by two separate unions and must be segregated in all aspects of their jobs.

On my flight today, DEN-JAC F/R, I got a PMCO glass with old logo(Tom Collins size) in lieu of the PMUA short glass. Should I be offended?
