It's fine for the employees of a company to "let off steam". I'm sure we all do it.
But when it's done on the job, in front of customers, I think it's unprofessional. To me, it comes across as whiny and small-minded. I'm a life-long CO flyer, but I'm sort of embarrased for CO when I hear a pilot announce that the passengers are being served by a Continental crew.
And it is just as bad to hear a pilot say "thanks for flying on a real United plane with a real United flight crew."
things like this tell me management hasn't done a good job of developing a "one team" spirit.
