United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 4:00AM to 12:00AM (midnight). In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM, but not in the opposite direction (shuttle does not board at Terminal B). The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. Current DEL-EWR winter schedule shows an 04:35 planned arrival time, so I'd guess this connection would be fine.

I'd be seriously surprised if UA scheduled the flight to arrive before immigration opens. A common story from SFO is that flights arriving early will require passengers to stay on board until immigration opens, but that's only because scheduled arrival coincides with the opening time.

No experience myself with early Int'l arrivals into EWR but I have to imagine we would hear about it here on FT if flights were landing well before immigration opened. I think a tweet to United would be most helpful to confirm here.
There are a few reports stating they open on arrival of the TLV flight. Others suggesting 5am (which could well be when the flight used to arrive in the past?).

Weird experience at Newark this weekend
I was travelling through Newark this past weekend with my family and had several strange things happen to me. The first was when I approached the premier check-in area. After the staff member greeted me, they politely inquired about my status and after verifying I was a 1K they said "Thank you for your business". Don't they know this is Newark and they're supposed to be incredibly rude to me? Passing through security (pre-check) was efficient and multiple TSA people were polite to me and my family. Even the gate agent was polite and had a smile on her face.
What's going on at Newark these days? Did they start putting something in the water? If I can't expect people to be rude to me at Newark airport, what is this world coming to?

I have a 2hr 10 minute int'l->dom connection coming up, and am considering switching to a 1hr 10 minute connection *if* we land in EWR early enough (I have GE, and my bags have been rather fast in the past, who knows if that will hold for this trip).
As far as I can tell, the checkin limit at EWR is 45". If I arrive early and it looks like I can make the earlier onward flight, should I try to get the SDC done in terminal B, or should I go over to Terminal C and ask at checkin there? I'm guessing if I'm still in Terminal B at 45" to go then I'm at risk of missing my flight, so I should get myself over to C regardless? (Is there even an agent capable of doing SDC in Terminal B?)

I have a 2hr 10 minute int'l->dom connection coming up, and am considering switching to a 1hr 10 minute connection *if* we land in EWR early enough (I have GE, and my bags have been rather fast in the past, who knows if that will hold for this trip).
As far as I can tell, the checkin limit at EWR is 45". If I arrive early and it looks like I can make the earlier onward flight, should I try to get the SDC done in terminal B, or should I go over to Terminal C and ask at checkin there? I'm guessing if I'm still in Terminal B at 45" to go then I'm at risk of missing my flight, so I should get myself over to C regardless? (Is there even an agent capable of doing SDC in Terminal B?)
(Premier Gold, so I can definitely SDC. 1 checked bag, and I'm guessing I need to bring that along when doing the SDC so they can retag it, rather than dropping it off again after customs.)

That said, maybe I can try the website uncheckin, SDC using rebooking tool, recheckin trick (that works in other cases where the app has refused to give me SDC options, but I've never tested with a tagged bag situation). Very fiddly if I need to do that on my phone though.

So that's why I couldn't SDC while taxiing to an earlier connection to go home! OS made me check my carry-on. Wound up calling while waiting for my bag at Terminal B. Sorry I didn't pay much attention to recheck capabilities as I just walked out with my bag to carry-on to my domestic flight.

So I got my first EWR charm experience.
There is a transfer desk beside the recheck area, but it had a bit of a line so I decided to skip it and go to premier checkin in terminal C.
Got there 55 minutes before my desired flight, the agents there played pass the parcel until I got to a manager at T-48. He then told me he couldn't do it because it was too late to check bags (the published limit is 45"). Decided to give up at that stage since they clearly didn't care.
Security was a complete zoo, even pre was full - but at least pre moved quite fast, whereas standard security didn't seem to be moving. (Would've made the flight without issues, but at risk of a gate check for my carryon.)

95 Minute connection in EWR with terminal change?
Hey everyone,
Quick quesiton, is 95 minutes enough time to make a connection in EWR including clearning customs and changing terminals from B to C? I have star gold so im hoping bags will arrive quickly and I can rush to the front of customs line just in case we're delayed.
Thoughts?

More important, do you have Global Entry and/or PreCheck? Without I would be concerned.
