MCT for EWR (2012)
https://www.newarkairport.com/at-airport/connecting-flights
United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 4:00AM to 12:00AM (midnight). In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM, but not in the opposite direction (shuttle does not board at Terminal B). The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. The shuttle drops off passengers at the terminal B through the service entry, that requires walking up 2 flights of stairs - there is no elevator. Only the front bus doors will open for alighting at terminal B.This service is free and you will not have to go through TSA security again. Please note this shuttle is operated at the sole responsibility of United Airlines and is subject to modification at their discretion.

Remarkably, no. For whatever reason AC has dumped their mid afternoon flight (on Saturdays) and the only other option is a 3pm United Express with no J . . . and nobody wants that. It's not an award space problem. It's a no airplane problem.
How often do these shuttles between the terminals run?

There is NO shuttle for you if you fly AC - you have to take the train (or walk) and then re-clear security in EWR. It's only about an hour flight - I would seriously recommend you consider the UA option if you don;t want to mess up the start to a nice holiday! And if you take the UA option - you get to use the shuttle and skip clearing security again...
I concur. If there is a reasonably-timed UA connection take that even if there is nt a premium cabin. The actual distance traveled is about 350 miles.

I realize the OP doesn't need an answer to this question, but I do. Arriving EWR on UA with very tight connection this afternoon (ATC delays). For whatever reason, I don't see a wiki for this thread--maybe iPhone limitations.

The UA inter-terminal shuttle runs every 10 minutes or so. I've nt had to wait very long at all the last few times I've used them.

Schedule Change/70 min connection
I logged into the UA app a bit ago to find that our EWR-HNL flight was "waitlisted" this was apparently due to a schedule change (which I'm not sure will be permanent) I did log into the UA website and "confirm" our change as well as calling. I spoke with an agent who said we meet connection times (not sure exactly what those are? 30 min?)
Our previous itinerary was BOS-EWR @ 0600-0720 followed by EWR-HNL @ 0950 which seemed to be plenty of time as we are arriving on a mainline UA flight into Terminal C.
With the schedule change, our first flight remains the same-arriving EWR @ 0720. The connecting flight
(EWR-HNL) now departs @ 0830 for a 1:10/70 min connection (assuming and hoping for no hiccups on the BOS-EWR leg.)
Assuming that the flight doesn't change back to the original time, do any of you EWR experts have any thoughts or suggestions?
Couple of points to note-
-It's the week AFTER Thanksgiving (hoping for lower crowds and decent weather)
-If it helps/matters, we're on paid F tickets (is luggage 'priority' a thing?)
-We have a 91 year old traveling with us who can walk very well (just no "Home Alone" terminal runs though!)
TBH I'm more worried about our luggage getting from one plane to the next on that kind of tight connection seeing as if the flight from BOS is somehow delayed, there's likely no chance of making an 8:30 flight.

Hi all -
It's been a very long time since I've connected through EWR. I'm looking at a domestic flight with a 36 minute connection. Both flights will be arriving and departing from C concourse (possibly at gates very close to each other). I will only have myself and my carry on bag.
My inbound flight is on time about 75% of the time, if the data on United's website is accurate. Data on the connecting (ex-EWR) flight is difficult to come by. Am I nuts for considering this short connection time? This flight is the least expensive and would allow me to save a vacation day, so it's an attractive option for me.

I cannot understand why any airline allows such a short connecting time. Then charges a lot more money for a realistic connecting time.

Connecting Intl to Intl at EWR
Hello,
Flying LHR-EWR-PTY and through checking in bags.
Is it still the case that the checked bag needs to be collected and rechecked at EWR during the connection, or can I simply walk off the first plane and head to the second?
Also, why does this vary by airport? For example when I flew via Houston last year on the same routing (London to Panama) I didn't have to collect my bag but when I flew via EWR I did.. just interested why there is a difference.

My bags didn't make it after an Int'l to domestic connection: 2.5 hours connection (ticketed times), and I dropped my bags in terminal B just a touch under 2 hours before the departure of my domestic flight from terminal C.
Is it more reliable to take your bag to terminal C and recheck it there instead of dropping it at the transfer conveyor?
I saw at least 3 other passengers who also didn't get their bags (we all got the SMS alert) - I decided to wait 1 hour for the following flight carrying my bag.
On a more positive note: the bags appeared very rapidly in EWR, perhaps a 5 minute wait after going through GE - most passengers weren't at the carousel yet.

EWR Premier Check In Renovations
Hello.
I've been wondering if anyone knows the status of the EWR Premier Access Check-In.
For the past twelve months, I've seen some sort of renovations take place throughout the entrance way and into the terminal.
Last Summer, the Economy Check-In on the Second Level was seriously upgraded, and now includes a real kiosk-less Additional Services Desk, and a good channel for Self Service options, all with the new podiums with the flexible monitors.
However, the upstairs Level Three Premier/BusinessFirst check in still looks old, with basically a "pen" of sorts. Where one person checks if you are eligible to check in at the Premier Desks, and then you enter the "pen" to a few kiosks (which in my eyes is terrible. All the other legacy carriers have their Priority Check-In staffed in a full-service area, and then there are other Priority kiosks off to the side.)
There is no structure to using those kiosks, and while you can technically flag down an agent and have he or she go down the full-service channels, it's definitely not fluid, and it's not nice like the Check-In Desks at other hubs like LAX, SFO, DEN exc.
United says that they are renovating the Premier Check-In (hopefully to be like LAX, with some kiosks, and some new flex-monitor podium full service stands) but I've been flying out of LGA the last few months, and I was wondering if they have renovated the EWR Premier Check-In, and if anyone else finds the Premier Check In as complicated as I do with all the kiosks. Finally, does anyone know if they are planning to move the Premier Check-in when they renovate the area? The statement from United (below) makes me think this isn't going to be a overnight job, but, then again, I don't really know....
To provide our customers with an airport experience that fits such an important hub, we’re investing millions of dollars into refreshing our space and adding new features at Newark.

Once this work is complete, you’ll notice a difference from the moment you pull up to Terminal C. We’re updating to a more modern look on the exterior area as well as inside the check-in area. We’re also refreshing our Premier members’ exclusive Premier Access® check-in.

Thanks! (I was originally going to ask this question on the random questions thread, but I figured I had too many questions, so I decided to ask it here on a new thread. If it's not worthy of a new thread, I understand why and it's ok if it's moved.)

FWIW, I did a GVA-EWR-SFO connection last week that was 1:20 connection. With Global Entry and Pre-check, was able to get to my connection as Group 2 was boarding the flight to SFO.
That's about as tight as I would like...
