I had at least four passengers come into the airport today (Saturday) to get checked-in for tomorrow (Sunday). All of them had schedule changes on their original itineraries (actually a reduction in flights) that caused robotic rebooking on other flights that they did not want. They all gave up after very long holds on the phone (two hours). I rebooked on flights they could use and checked them in for tomorrow.
Hopefully this will smooth out in just a day or two. |

Check-in Fun & Frolic
Flying 3/4 ATL-ORD-PDX. At T-24 and for roughly 3 hours, could not check-in by any electronic means (United Android App, United.com) using every possible approach I know.
After a 33 minute wait, I was able to reach (a very pleasant) agent who did the check in for me. Thereafter, I was able to access the reservation and print and email boarding passes for both flights. E+ seats intact for both flights. That's the good. The following anomalies are noted: (1) On the BP's (both printed and electronic), though my PS status and "Premier Access" are shown, I am also shown in boarding group 4. That would be bad. (2) Despite request and verbal confirmation with the agent (and preconversion listing), I do not appear to have been placed on the upgrade standby list or upgrade queue for the ORD-PDX segment. United App shows a list of those w cleared upgrades and those awaiting an F seat. Not on that. Also not on the app's "stand by" list, which is completely unpopulated. Upgrade/Standby status also not shown on that segment's BP. On the ATL-ORD BP, "Added to Upgrade Standby List" is shown. The "Upgrade" and "Standby" buttons on the App for this segment are not functional, however. I will live through this, of course. And I didn't lose my seats (fingers crossed), but I guess it's fair to say the conversion is having its challenges. --mcz |

Yes you may be inconvenienced. Yes you may be delayed. Yes you may have to wait for the kinks to be worked out in one of the largest airline IT integrations ever.
I wish all the whinnying was a surprise, but seems like we have become a nation of whiners so I guess it is to be expected here too. And no, I am not an airline employee or married to one. |

PSS site?
Just wondering....pss.united.com used to be the URL for the preview site, and now that everything is moved over, the site starts with www.united.com. However, some pages on the normal site seem to be using pss.united.com - I noticed this happens when I log in on account pages, gift registry, etc, and then if you click home from there, goes back to pss.united.com.
Is there any difference whether the URL starts with pss or www. Just want to make sure I am going to the right place, and any changes made to accounts, etc. are properly made and noted. |
Where are my regional upgrades???
I am a Premier 1K member from UA. My systemwide upgrades transferred through, but my regional upgrades did NOT. I had 2 remaining banked regional upgrades. I need to use those to upgrade a friend who is traveling with me on March 8. When will those upgrades be back for me to use???!!!

Additionally some of us with future reserved SWU/Regionals have had them doubly deducted (you can see this in the account detail). There has not yet been a response from UA on this -- see post 319 |
